Lets do it. Look at this offensive scheme. And ya'll say scheme doesn't matter? Our scheme looks like nothing compared to this.

But knowing Jerry he will convince to himself that Kellen Moore is close to Ben Johnson but is a lot cheaper and will allow Jerry to do what Jerry thinks he does best. EVERYTHING.

Do what?
Kidnap him?
Hogtie him and drag him to Dallas?

We signed Dak to big money despite the fact that he can no longer run. Ben Johnson did wonders with Goff who also isn't a runner. Why not see what he can do with Dak? You've allotted so much of the cap to him, why not maximize his potential? If it doesn't work with BJ and its not going to work with any OC so just cut loose at that point. So far Dak has been playing early 2010's playcalling. Time to bring him into 2025

Ben can choose at his leisure what team he wants to become a Head Coach.
He's not a desperate coach that would lie about analytics and sleep over at Jerry's house for another shot.
This.

Johnson will be the hottest candidate.

He can chose whatever situation he wants.

Why would he want to chose a team with a stinky wrinkly old senile owner who not only smells like urine, but tells the head coach how to coach, and annoints himself as GM, and hires his stupid incompetent children to run the team.... and is saddled with a choke artist QB that the owner loves?

He can pick any job he wants

Ben Johnson is no idiot, nor is he desperate. He will have the pick of the litter once he is ready. And definitely will not take Jerry’s requirements.

It would be nice to have a head coach who runs an offense that attacks downfield regularly.

Jason Garrett and Kellen Moore love the comeback routes which make it easy on the defense.

McCarthy loves the horizontal routes with passes less than 5 yards relying heavily on YAC and tackle advoidance for longer plays.

Having a coach that puts the defense on their heels on every down while also focusing on the run game would be a welcome change.

he is priced out ,no way the Jones are paying top dollar for coaches anymore.they are penny pinching everywhere, heck they are not hiring enough assistants and players are complaining.

Last I checked, only Vrabel has signed.

All of the other coaching candidates are still out there.
Ben Johnson cannot do an “in person” interview until Detroit’s season is over. No matter how good he is I think interested teams would like to sit down with him face to face in person. My guess is he’d like to do the same before making a decision.

No “in person” interviews, by coaches currently under contract with any team, can be done until January 20 (after the divisional round) per league rules. That’s why “All of the other coaching candidates are still out there”. Vrabel was no longer under contract with a team. Now McCarthy isn’t, either. McCarthy will want to move quickly as he’ll want to be able to bring guys like Al Harris with him to his next team. Jerry Jones is about to find out what “loyalty” really is.

Detroit gets a lot of kudos as best this best that but aren’t the Chiefs the back to back SB champs ? Steve Spagnulo should get some attention and an interview . That defense is no joking . How about it Jerry . Call Lamar get permission to interview him

The Cowboys literally have the best roster of all the teams needing a coach. If winning matters to a new HC, Dallas would be very appealing.

I don't know how he does it with just top talent at every position.

He might be a savant.

Chris Shula. ( Don’s grandson ) Rams DC just ran a clinic on Minnesota OC Wes Phillips ( Bum’s grandson ) They got 9 sacks on a 14 win team . 38 yrs old working for a pretty good HC in McVay . Jerry do your homework interview some of these young coaches who might make great HC with a chance .

For sure. Jerry would need to unload some of that hay in the barn to even have a chance to get someone that good.

While l can understand what you're saying, the boyscout approach hasn't exactly worked for us the past 30 years.
Nah I’m sayin he’s gonna do something to embarrass us like have a quote saying he would never take out Job or he be like do an interview and then leak that Jerry crapped his pants
