Ben Rogers Calls for Garrett Firing

I just don’t see any kind of win streak happening with this team right now. The offense is a dumpster fire and the defense is exactly what we all feared it would be after the FO pissed away the offseason.

The Chargers may be 4-6, but they hung 54 on the Bills. Their offense has plenty of weapons and they are playing well while we just suffered our second blowout loss and have scored just one TD in two games....

Playoff teams don’t perform like that.

Secondly, how are fans talking about possibly making changes at the head coaching level "unproductive"? Are we somehow affecting the team's ability to prepare for the Chargers? Are we causing the team to collapse in the 2nd halves of games with threads like this?

The reality is that this team is 5-5, has a coach who has been on the job for 7 years and has only one playoff win and is staring at a situation where they need to suddenly go on a win streak to make a run at the playoffs................. questions about the coach and should he come back are quite pertinent at this time.

I find this interesting b/c 1. he works for the Cowboys flagship station and 2. he and Skin Wade are Romo's closest confidants in the DFW media. Ben and Romo are good friends and I'm sure he hasn't given Garrett a cosign behind closed doors.

This has been the ONE big thing missing from the entire equation is the media calling for Garrett's head. Plenty of articles written hammering Garrett, but we need all these talk show guys and local types to start really getting on Jerry to fire Garrett. Then it will just be a matter of time.

Romo blasted Garrett publicly like you just said, but in a very nice way. All the teams with winning records that we played... they get significantly better in the second half. We don't. That's called adjustments and our coaching staff hasn't been doing that all that well. Romo said Garrett isn't an X and O's type of guy. He's more of a motivational type of guy. In other words, he isn't bringing a scheme to the table that is helping the players to succeed. Therefore if we aren't out talenting our opposition, we lose. If that's the case, all that happens to cause us to go back to 8 and 8 mode is a couple of key injuries on the team.

And lets not forget that Romo all but demanded he be more involved in play calling and control of the offense. And this was when Garrett was the OC before he resigned. I bet after Garrett is fired we find out all kinds of players didnt like Garrett.

Maybe Romo with some behind the scenes manuvering. I'm sure that comment he made during the Chief's game was just the tip of the iceberg. IMO it was Romo's way of saying " Hey just so you were aware, when I was QB1 I didn't get a lot of X and O's help"
said he was more of a motivator!

Romo gave him faint praise in the Chiefs game broadcast. Said he was a "motiovator type not an Xs and Os guy. He had none of the usual excitement in his voice.

Romo during that game praised Witten, Lee, Dez, Dak and many others. Enthusiastically. Yet he spent most of his career with Garrett and crickets.

That really is the problem isn't it...No coach worth a damn would touch this job. The culture is toxic. The owner spoiled. Fanbase full of idiots. Media vicious...Just what a coach is looking for. And did I mention he doesn't get to pick his coordinators..nor get to call plays or draft his players.

Freaking dream job....right?

LOL:laugh:

Jerry has turned this whole thing into a living hell..
Floaty for Head Coach.

If only Romo would have played for a real HC. One year of a tired Parcells was all he got.

Anyone ever listen to him before?

Let’s just say he has a unique expertise for being wrong on everything.

I like Garrett and linehan so i personally don’t want them fired but i also think at some point the message needs to be changed, especially with such a young group of players

I know Romo meant that as praise, but I interpreted that as more damning since it confirmed what JG's critics have been saying for years.

I'm down for a change if there is a viable replacement. He would need to be someone that not only motivates and develops players like Garrett has proven to do but also do more.

I don't see anyone that fits that description currently. OTOH, I do think it would be much easier to find an upgrade on defensive coaching.
