Bench Julius Jones

Ricky Henderson actually was one of the fastest guys in baseball. I heard him claim he ran a 4.2 at one time, which really means a 4.4. That is pretty dang fast for a baseball player.

Henderson was plenty fast and was actually a top running back in California when he was in high school. However, he didn't have the best raw speed in baseball, which was the point. He definitely wasn't as fast as Willie Wilson or Vince Coleman. However, he made studying pitchers' moves an art form, and because of that had the best jump in the game.

Henderson looked faster than Coleman. Wilson truly looked the fastest of the three. All I know is baseball speed is nothing compared to football speed. What is the name of that sports challenge competition they hold every year? Herschel Walker won it a couple of times while he played for Dallas. One of the events was the 100 yard dash. Coleman was in it against a bunch of NFL receivers, running backs and defensive backs. He didn't have a chance. They all beat him by at least 10 yards.

WIth you 100%....I have been screaming for Barber to be our starter for 2 weeks now....NO MORE JONES!!!!

Troy Hambrick had a better average than Emmit Smith when Smith was still starting.

How did that one turn out?

I say you stick with Jones. Why? Because Parcells knows more about football than you do, thats why.

Yeah, that makes complete sense. Go with the RB who is running timid and does not will himself like Barber to get the extra yard or yards.

i guess BP is still waiting for Jones to breakout. i'd go with the hot hand at this point in time. MB has shown he can play in this league. let's give him more touches. i also don't know why TT doesn't carry the ball anymore. he was somewhat succesfull early in the year. we need to use all our weapons to salvage this season.

I think the OL works better with barber because he can break that tackle of someone 3 yards in the Backfield every freakin play better than JJ.

People can say what they want about Jones in his defense, I used to be guilty of that too but the one thing great backs have in common is they are dependable. Injury plagued seasons are few and far between if you want to be a great back in this league. At the very least, Julius Jones must figure that out.

BP has been playing mind games with JJ...The look on JJs face after he had that 51 yarder and saw Barber go in for the rest of the drive was a look of urgency and i really think if he starts next week, he will give us a surprise, even with the bad line. Im talkin about makin guys miss and not being afraid to make that cut...Plus we need it alot

C. Williams went for around 120 and 2Td's with their putrid OL against Carolina. But if any Cowboy is gonna do that, it's Barber not JJ.

Unless you have eyes that can see the Cowboys during the week while practicing you really can't see which back is better.

Parcells sees the backs preform every day and he must see something that tells him that MB3 should not be predominatly featured over J. Jones.

Also teams have a lot more tape on Jones and have realized to keep contain on the outside where he got his big runs last year. They also are always looking for the draw.

The best arguement made in my opinion is the Barber gets more of those YAC's. I believe that Julius runs better than MB3 behind decent blocking. MB3 does better because he can get us some yards even with poor blocking.

So are you saying that practice is more meaningful than regular season games?

So what if Julius is a beast in practice. Marion is the beast in games when it counts.

He's the better blocker. The better pass catcher out of the backfield. And overall, the better RB who fights for every yard with a passion.

Oh, and he seems to have a knack for getting in the endzone by any means necessary.

Bench Julius in favor of Marion. I like Julius, but damn, it's painfully obvious who is doing the better job on the field and who's the catalyst for this offense.

I agree with you,IMO Barber should have played all game.Barber would have taken that 51 yard run by JJ to the house.

You're REALLY reaching here if you think this is a way to prove Barber is worth more than Julius.

I agree, Barber is without a doubt the superior back right now. HOWEVER, so soon we forget Barber getting chased down by a Sammy Knight from behind last week who had no angle. Suddenly, Barber is superman and can outrun Sean Taylor at an angle like he had on Julius?

I just don't see how we can write off Julius. Anyone with eyes can see Julius is nowhere close to the RB he was last year. That to me points to an injury or lack of confidence. Whether it is truely either, no one honestly knows.

I'd rather wait and see until Julius is given time to be healthy. Their has been sometiems in the last few games where he busts thru the hole so quickly he looks like the RB of last year, so I'm willing to wait.

Even if this is the Julius we should all expect from now on, I still love the combo of Barber and Jones.

Just hopefully we can put a decent line in front of them for years to come.

You can wait and see next year, but in the mean time we need to be winning games, and trying to make the playoffs, and MB3 gives us the best oppourtunity to do so.

hmm, 12 carries for 70+ yards compared to 10 for 30, and the fans call for the guy with 30 yards to start.....

Seems pretty hypocritical to me. If the numbers were reversed, you'd all be using them as a reason to start Barber. I mean, hey let's play the guy that produces right? Well 70+ yards on 12 carries, is a lot more production than 30 on 10. But, but, most of those yards only came on one run you say? Well, gee, that never stopped you guys from drooling over Barber when he didn't do squat except for one run (Philly anyone?). People on here are insane, I swear.

this MBIII bandwagon, to me, is getting ridiculous
I don't even feel like evaluating any of this right now though
just want to throw my opinion out there

JJ is not healthy, plus he bulked up WAY too much. I also want to see him take matters into his own hands more and stop doing things the Parcells way every single play. Meaning- if the hole is clogged and the backside is opened, cut back.

Same goes for Tyson Thompson, stop running into the pile all of the time, try to make something happen sometimes.

Yeah, but take away that 51-yard run, and Julius had 11 carries for 19 yards. So what if he busts a 50+ yard run every 10 games? I want a running back who can consistently get 5-to-6-yard runs and break a few tackles in doing so. Right now, that back is Marion Barber.

I really like Julius, but he's been very mediocre this season and MB3 has played well. I would rather play the guy who can get the job done.

Sorry to say it but I would rather see a full dose of marion Barber than this little switch up thing we're doing.

Early in the game MArion ran into the TD with a diving play, witch was called back on a penalty.

Do you think JJ would of done that? would he of gave it that much effort?

I say no.

Later in the game Julius Jones failed to catch an easy pass witch was ofcourse tiped by him and intercepted.

People say Julius Jones is faster than Marion BArber....Are you guys sure about that?

Seems to me Barber is the better athlete....He seems faster, swifter, much stronger and not to mention much more determined.

I'm sorry JJis having a bad year I really am, but when it's time it's time.....
The JJ of last season?
Hands down faster than Barber. No comparison.

But this season?
JJ has surely lost a step since injury and Barber is the better RB.
