Yep....Kevin Burnett.

He has a great energy level...makes some big plays and always seems to be around the ball.

I'm not seeing much from Greg Ellis.

Burnett looks to have the most athleticism of all the linebackers. I think he can being a playmaking element to the team that Ellis can't.

Bench Greg Ellis? What? Isn't he slated for the Pro Bowl?

But you're right, I think Burnette deserves more playing time. Nevertheless, Ellis isn't playing bad. It's all part of the scheme.

Stop the run first ... as in 26 yards combined running by Dayne and Gado. I'd say, mission accomplished.

Don't forget .... it's Zimmer at the helm. 3-4 or 4-3, it's all the same. Stop the run first. Engage the Tackles and read the play.

Did you see Ellis dive for the int?

Did you see Ellis knock Carr to the ground?

Find someone else to bench pls.....

"Bench the old guy...and start the youngster ". No one is benching CBZ if I have something to do with it!

Oh, you're talking about Burnett. :)

My only concern with Burnett replacing Ellis is if he can provide more pressure on the quarterback than Greg. If he can, consistently, I'm all for it.

I dont think it would be the best to start him against an ok NY Giants team. We should have started him today. I think we should start him against Arizona though.

Gotta disagree with you on this one Jukester

Ellis has 18 tackles, 2.5 sacks, 2 forced fumbles and an INT this year. He has been very productive

I don't know if Burnett is big enough to play over the TE (full-time).

I think the point is that Burnett is turning in to a good football player. I'm not for benching Ellis, but depth is a good thing. It takes patience, but I'm glad that BP waited on him (and Brady for that matter). Burnett has a future with this D.

Bench the Nordic Blunder..Rob Carpenter!

I agree he should be playing, but definitely not at strongside OLB. I envision him in Ayodele's (who I never wanted) position, as bubble ILB. I have felt that way since we drafted him.

Burnett has looked good when he has had playing time, but I believe that Ellis is viewed as a leader on this D, and that is an intangible I would like to keep as we face the Giants next week.

It's them darn bug eyes of yours! Seriously, you must be kidding or asleep during games.

Rotate Burnett in more is reasonable, but bench Ellis??? C'mon.

i personally think that greg has played excellent this season but im not opposed to starting burnett against teams that have more mobile qb's or if our game plan calls for more blitzing. but overall greg ellis can arguably be our defensive mvp (or roy williams).

Are we going to have one of these ridiculous threads every week? Ellis is making plays EVERY week.

Oh, and by the way, part of the reason why our run defense has improved is not just because of the line, it's having Ellis and his big frame anchoring one side of the field. People forget he just doesn't add pass rush but a huge run stopping outside linebacker also. KB may be nice for the future but the future is not in year two....

Must be something in the water in New York. Or you need LASIK surgery.
