Bengals give DE Trey Hendrickson permission to seek trade

30 years old. 4 straight pro bowls and ALL-PRO this year.

Give them the 44th pick and call it a day. Best use of a 2nd round pick in many years.

I think it would take more than that and any team signing him, after trading high round picks, is going to have to work an extension, which would end up being a hundred million.
He’s going to need a new contract

So theyre just going to give away someone who’s been demanding 33-34m a year and made it abundantly clear he’s not going to play under his current contract for a mere 2nd round pick?
My guess is 1st minimum, probably a 1st and 3rd maybe 4th if the 1st is high enough!

Then if you can figure out how to meet his contract demands and Micah’s contract 36m where do you play him?
He’s a poor run defender playing the weak side 7tech. Can’t see him being effective at the strong side… even if he was effective playing the 5tech we’re finally getting out from under drastically overpaying Lawrence after having to change his position to 5tech. Exactly why would we want to bury ourselves under another massive contract on a soon to be 31yo 5tech who hasn’t shown much desire to play the run as a 7tech?

Wow these teams are really smart
They waited till we signed Tyus Wheat before releasing Bosa and allowing Hendrickson to seek trade
They knew wed pick them up

Buyer beware on this guy. Awesome pass rusher dont get me wrong, but he doesnt do his LBs any favors in the run game. He is someone who is always playing pass first and neglects his run responsibilities. The Cowboys already have a few guy that fit that description.
Yep, If you were an OC playing against us, with him and Micah (and Osa) and no holing LB, what would your game plan be????? Your QB would be lucky to get 100 yards (passing)....even Goff would get more rushing than passing yards.

Now come on, none of this sensible talk, you really do need to get back on the bandwagon of: see player, any player, want player ;)

yeah it would be 2022-2023 all over again where if you can get out to an early lead and force teams to throw you'll look like a top team in football. Better teams in the league with balanced offenses would give us fits.

I think we'd be mailing in the Eagles games.

Man, liked him since his FAU days.

New Orleans scouts have an eye for those mid round DL but their coaching staff was bent on getting Davenport more snaps due to trading up for him(IMO).

They are going to give him away as you put it BECAUSE he wants $30 million per year. Isn't that how it works? When we got a 5th for Cooper it was because of his contract supposedly.

But it is he money demand that will keep him from Dallas. Jerry is not going to pay him $30 million even if he got him for a 5th round pick.

Eh sort of. Difference is Cooper was traded making top money at his position while coming off a year where he averaged 57 yards per game. Teams can typically find that type of production in FA. Hendrickson is coming off back to back 17 sack years and a 1st team all pro recognition. That's a little tougher to find on the open market so Hendrickson should net Cincinnati a much better pick.

Found a link that shows a list of all the signings between Washington and Philly.

Obviously, this is how real front offices handle their business.

Credit Philly and Washington for how they run their respective franchises. There are other teams that are similarly run building their roster. The anomaly is the Cowboys. But two teams aren’t signing every available free agent.
