Bengals once interested in TE Martellus Bennett...

Cincinnati was willing to give the Cowboys a second-round pick for Martellus Bennett during last season, but the Cowboys passed. Would the Cowboys listen this time around? If they did, then they would have to find a replacement because of how often they run two- and three-tight end packages. While Witten remains the top option, Bennett’s skills are hard to give up on at such a young age. Phillips is solid, tough and smart, which is what you need in a backup. If the Cowboys do anything at this position it will be later in the draft to fill a camp spot. — Dallas Morning News

We need to stop drafting tight ends in the second round when we have Jason Witten. Where did we find John Phillips? In the 6th? Hell why don't we take a quarterback with our 1st pick and a running back with our second. That makes about as much sense.

Unless they offer a 1st than we should pass. He is to valuable to our offense to let walk for what we paid.

Misleading title. Idle speculation on a topic that has been beat to death. There was just a report on here a few days ago that said the Bengals are no longer interested in Bennett.

Seriously

I was excited about the possibility of getting something in return for him because, honestly, I would think a blocking TE could be had for very little.

They really offered a 1st? I thought that was speculation but they really were gonna give a 1st rounder for him?

A player's trade value is at its lowest right before the draft. We'd never get another offer like that before the season started when some team's starting TE gets injured.

I thought Hostile disposed of this rumor awhile back...?

Not sure if he had info or not, I dont remember him having that.

But I have the video and remember clearly laufenberg saying they had their source tell them that it was a 1 and I take laufenberg's info over everyones.

Right. They need to use that on the OL. Unless a S or WR is the better pick.

No. Especially since that wouldn't be a high 2nd.

Yeah I remember the clip you had with Laufenberg saying that. I just remember Hostile telling someone it wasn't true in some thread a couple months after the video.

No one offered a first. This crazy talk need to cease. This has been beaten to death. Theebs, I like ya buddy but can you provide one single shred of verifiable proof that the Bengals offered a first or are you just being sarcastic?

Yes. Laufenberg reported that he his source told him it was a 1 from the bengals and the cowboys said no.

I put the video on here the night I saw it. And say what you want about babe, but He is always rock solid with his info because he gets it from credible sources, like jerry or stephen themselves or one of his friends on the staff.

I have pictures of him on the sideline standing their talking to stephen and todd williams along with john garrett and ray sherman before the game on the night he reported it.

here is the post the video is in.

Good stuff.

Just curious, how many gigs of HD space to you have in footage? Total footage, none of the highlights or works in progrees, just the raw recordings?

The raw recordings of the stuff like the score probably about 200, but I compress everything down and keep a copy of everything I record, that file is a little over 200 also.

I have a bunch of externals filled with old news clips and that type of stuff along with the games and pre and post game shows.

an hour of HD recorded this way is about 8gb or so. Things like the score are 30 minutes and when you take the commercials out its about 20 minutes of actual stuff.

I have the show glory days they did recently and aired on cbs11 plus the hour long making of the cowboys cheerleaders calendar....but I dont want to get my youtube account suspended for putting it up..I need to make another alternate one for those!
