If UFAs are unsigned as of June 1, the player's previous team must give him a qualifying offer, or he won't count in the equation.
I assumed that was the date, but given the fact you mentioned you were concerned that Davis hasn't signed anywhere that it might not be the case.

Thanks for the response as always

Last year, 89 percent of the UFAs who changed teams before June 1 had already signed by this date, so there's a pretty good chance anyone left won't be signed by June 1. Smart teams will wait until June 2 to sign any remaining UFAs now (with few exceptions), if they have a chance of getting a comp pick next year. The Giants got a third-round pick for Gibril Wilson this year only because they waited until June 2 to sign Renaldo Wynn last year.

let's hope he does great....won't that give us a better comp pick next year?

I'm sure I'll be corrected if wrong, but from what I understand it's based mostly on playing time and compensation not statistics.

unless the statistics lead to a pro bowl vote.

Yes, I believe you are correct. But if he has good stats, doesn't that mean he is getting more playing time. But the downfall could be the compensation, if that is a factor, or how much of a factor it is.

Sorry, I was thinking Canty signed a seven-year deal for $42 million, but it was six years for $42 million. So a $7 million average COULD be enough to get a third-round pick, depending on how much he plays.

I think you had mentioned earlier that Canty's signing might get us a third round pick. I certainly couldn't come up with that number other than snatching it out of mid air.

Still, fourth or third rounder, Tank finally did us some real good there....:)

The Water Pistol finally got picked up.

I've had squirt guns from the Dollar General Store that scared me more.

Zing.

He fits that scheme more than ours. We tried to make him a 2 technique NT and he didn't want to do that. I don't know if he even could do the job. He apparently just didn't want to try.

If he does well there then he can make some money.

About $950,000 should be enough to qualify. Maybe less, depending on how much he plays.

Thanks, Adam.

Let's hope he gets a decent contract!

We signed Igor, Brookings, and Sensbaugh so the Tank signing offsets some of that I guess?

Lost Tank, Canty. Burnett we need someone to sign Thomas
