Will McClay weighing in on Mazi in the draft room.Love how you can see the old fool talk his nonsense in this video while his yes men brigade stays completely silent, yes my king whatever you say my king. What a clown show.

I felt the same way about Jaylon Smith pre-injury. I even made a thread here.I’ve been ardently following the draft for 35+ years now. Even so, Mazi was a lesson for me to trust your eyes and convictions.
I never saw the player Mazi was purported to be on tape at Michigan. Combine that with his absolutely abysmal production and it was clear to see he was purely hype—a myth based on supposed freaky athleticism.
Despite all that I allowed myself to be convinced there must be something I’m just missing. There wasn’t.
Mazi reminds me of Kelvin. Kelvin was fast and that was it. Mazi is big and that's it.I’ve been ardently following the draft for 35+ years now. Even so, Mazi was a lesson for me to trust your eyes and convictions.

Tyrone at least could run a 4.2 lol.For years many Cowboys fans wanted that big fat body DT to help clog up the middle. That was the only reason I was ok with the pick. As noted it was down to interior O or D line and we needed to start addressing the D line.
Turns out the guy looked like Mark Henry but played like Tyrone Biggums. Such a shame.
Yeah, we finally take a first round DT and take one that was all hype and wasn't very good in college. Kinda like falling for Mo.For years many Cowboys fans wanted that big fat body DT to help clog up the middle. That was the only reason I was ok with the pick. D. I'm StupidBeat me to it.
Good for Bergeron but it was a consensus about the DT v OL position, and wasn’t some Jerry pick.
This was recognizing that they had neglected DT for years, and they forced a pick here.
Ultimately they missed the point. The issue wasn’t that they’d been using high draft picks on OL, it was that they didn’t use other resources (FA, Trades) to build up the defense.
Drafts just kept breaking such that when the Cowboys were on the clock, OL was probably the best bet.
The decision to go DT here was similar to when you’re taking a test in school and three answers in a row have been “C” so you decide the next answer surely can’t be “C” and you pick “D”
I remember after he was picked, many people here would repeatedly bring up his biggest accomplishment being some list of athletic freaks where he was #1… which has absolutely nothing to do with his ability to play Football. Was a bizarre timeMazi reminds me of Kelvin. Kelvin was fast and that was it. Mazi is big and that's it.
Only fools fall for players such as Mazi and Kelvin.
We have Booker and Smith. He’s rich. Worked out for allLast month Bergeron signed a four-year, $96 million contract extension.
Two weeks ago Mazi signed with Miami and is on their PS.
I do. 1st round busts keep you from entering super bowl contention.I don’t care that Mazi was a bust. Busts happen. Every draft especially in the first round.
The issue wasn’t him busting.
The issue was they year after year refuse to use free agency so they wanted to fill their biggest needs through the draft. If you didn’t do that maybe you pick someone else.
