Guys like Berman are a reminder that sports analysts/commentators are oftentimes there for entertainment value only. They're not insiders or true journalists, nor are they even necessarily football-smart. They're vivacious personalities that the network thinks will draw in viewers.

Translation? Their opinion means nothing, but they'll be very, very loud in spewing it.

You hit the nail right on the head. He's an entertainer first and that is what he gets paid to do .... entertain.

I personally like Berman overall. Everyone I realize most of us are homers so anytime an analyst says we are going to lose, we want to slam them. That is what the media does, Berman is one of the better ones out there.

I only enjoy that guy, for the noises he makes that come out of his mouth. That weird "WOOP WOOP WOOP" thing. It sounds like he has tourette's.

As a person that actually believes there IS a bias towards Dallas.....I find these posts tiresome.

It seems there is a thread started for every analyst that picks us to lose.

The way these shows work......someone has to take the opposite view. Might as well be Berman.

No surprise, he shows old clips of Dallas losing to Philly in the NFC Championship and then picks Philly 26-23. His bias and hatred of Dallas is actually disgusting to watch. The thing that makes it worse, is that he tries to HIDE his hatred. I actually do not remember the last time he picked Dallas to win a game, period. He's obviously still mad about us beating his precious Bills in back-to-back Super Bowls. I know his opinion doesn't matter but the guy is just a ***. That is all.

Hehe I remember when he picked them both times to beat Dallas and he predicted a San Fran-Buffalo Super Bowl both those times he was drooling all over those two teams nuts and had that stupid jacket on with one side having 49ers and the other side having Buffalo. Dude was bent when we kicked San Fran in the arse and made it so his favorite pretty boy Young was not playing in the Super Bowl

It does not bother me I do not care; I like several of them that other people do not like. I just remember Dallas raining on Berman's Parade back in the triplet days it was good stuff. They hated us back then and it was all about the 49ers love fest. Then it was Greenbay and the young Bret Favre that we destroyed year after year including Jason Garret going deep on them what 3 times to Alvin Harper.

I don't think the thought has occured to many of you that we actually could lose this game.

Philly was 11-5. They likely won't be a pushover tonight. Someone picking Philly to squeak by isn't an irrational thought.

I dont really bother anymore with pregame talk on those shows they tend to annoy me and shouldn't since it is their opinion whether it is biased or not
