Bernadeau is awful

I know this isn't anything different then a lot of you already know, but I have watched the All 22 on almost every game from last season.

Re-watched more games tonight, and the 1 thing that stood out in my mind more then anything is how bad Bernadeau is.

I honestly think he is a weaker link then Free. Pathetic how many pressures and sacks he gives up for a guard. Guys with any quickness at all blow by him. Even when he doesn't give up the sack or pressure, his guy is consistently in Tony's face.

I don't know how people can say Livings is the weak link. Bernadeau might be a tiny bit better in run blocking and getting on the move, but he is AWFUL in pass protection. Livings was actually pretty good in protection. Only saw few mistakes. Really hope Frederick takes his spot or Leary.

He wasn't an NFL starter before he came here and he still isn't one.

Never had to rematch a game to realize Bernadeau was our worst. It was burned into my memory during the season.

Exactly. He was the same player when he was with the Panthers. He plays soft, very soft for a man his size. Some have used injuries as an excuse for his play last year. I don't know what the excuse was when he was in Carolina.

I agree the guys is a bum. I actually do like livings and I think he can be a solid player with better talent around him. I think he is serviceable to be honest. But I think Bearny is a bum.

He's definitely a weaker link than Free, but neither deserves to continue as a starter.

Livings is serviceable. Not great, not awful. I think majority of the issues were on the right side of offensive line. I really hope Bernadeau gets benched.

Whoever keeps saying that he got better as year went on has NO IDEA what they are talking about. I watched the saints game and the Commanders gave tonight and he was still awful!

Costa at center and Fred at RG is probably the best combo we can field this year.

such a fail bringing him here...i mean what were they thinking?

Couldn't agree more....yet he will still more than likely be trotted out to start this year. The fact that he was restructured is kinda scary and tells me that Jerry isn't going to give up on his boy.

In before someone actually tries to play the injured card.

Absolutely agree, Bernie is not good at all. And this is the problem. Bernie is garbage, Costa is garbage, Free is garbage, Cook is garbage, and Livings is below average.

1 Travis Frederick can only do so much to move the needle. I'm very unconformable with the fact we will be returning 4 of 5 starters on one of the worst offensive lines in football last year.

He looked okay in the games he played before. Not as good as Livings did, but nowhere near this bad. You have to take a guy that plays a few games and project how well he'll play over a longer period. It's not an exact science, but I can certainly see why they thought he was worth a shot.

You realize his nickname in Carolina was "el matador" right?

I'd be really happy if they replaced him with Moore. If we get Moore and Winston I feel like this could be such a strong team overall.

I agree but we're not getting both seems unrealistic with our cap situation, Moore would be ideal so we can bench MB, I'd rather give Parnell an opportunity to prove himself.

We won't get one of them, but if I had to choose, I'll take moore.

Same. Smith-Livings-Fred-Moore-Parnell actually seems like a pretty solid lineup IMO. Replace Moore in a year or two with a draft pick, Livings with one thereafter. That's how you build a line.

I'd really think Leary can push for a starting job, but he's only really played LT and RG in college.

I think this:

If they sign Winston to be the starter at RT, there will be a true RG competition between Bernadeau and Leary.

I do NOT want Leary at RG and Parnell at RT. That just looks like a disaster.

I don't really care what his nickname was. I watched all of his games. Fans -- particularly NFL fans -- are typically a very unreliable source as to a players talent or lack thereof.
