I have heard several here say we need to go after him. I have heard several others say he has a worse case of the dropsies then TO does and does not make as many plays. What is the story?

I like Berrian but he's going to want too much scratch. Wide receivers are a dime a dozen... we can get a speed guy for less money.

Just say no.... We could draft his clone Manningham in the 2nd round, that is if we wanted someone who could stretch the field and drop passes.....:laugh2:

It depends on what he is asking for he is inconsistent for sure. Like Mike said if he wants tons of scratch pass if he comes at a good price I like him better then Devery Henderson out there

I would hate to 'settle' for him when I think we can get bigger, faster, and better hands at WR.

The WR FA list is thin other than making a trade for Roy Williams or Larry Fitzgerald if the rumors are true about him being available

They all rained crap on Chris Chambers after the SD deal too, saying he drops too many passes...most of them drop too many passes, but Chambers and Berrian are both big time receivers.

Chambers has been a huge addition for SD, and Berrian would be a huge addition for us...we need to sign a WR in free agency and draft one.

We need to sign a 3rd CB in free agency and then draft a good one.

And I'm sure, once again, we'll be looking at some safeties who play Special Teams.

I believe i heard they being the bears are thinking about taking the franchise tag off of briggs and putting it on berrian

I heard Berrian talking on Chicago sports radio about how he wants top 10 WR money. I'll pass on a complementary player that thinks too highly of himself.

is briggs really a free agent? i though i saw something late in the season that said him and the bears worked or were working out a deal.

I'd rather have slow guys with hands than dropsie guys. Sorry.

Joe Jureviscious types over fast guys that get open 3 times a game, once the QB misses them, once they catch it, once they drop it. I prefer consistency over the one big play.

Briggs only signed a one year contract for $7 million. He has a clause in his contract that the Bears can't put the franchise tag on him this year like they did last year. Briggs had an excellent season even though the Bears finished 7-9.

As for Berrian, trust me, the Cowboys don't want any part of this guy. He's a 3rd WR at best and he drops more passes than a one-armed man.

There's a reason the Bears put Hester at WR. It's not just because of his break away speed.

I live in the suburbs of Chicago so I get all the Bears news whether I want it or not. It's not easy being a Packers fan in the land of the Muppets of the Midway but it's been fun this year. Excpet when the Packers play the Bears. ;)

Berrian is overrated, all he runs is the 9 route. Nothing else, you wont see this guy go over the middle. Let some other team waste their money on him. We can just draft someone.
