As soured as most of the world has become with the sport of boxing, there have been some gems throughout its' history. I have a limited collection of fights that I've watched over the years that I've enjoyed, but would like to add to it.

Name some of your favorites.

I'll nominate not one fight, but three, and with the same combatants:

Ward/Gatti I is my favorite fight in the modern era.

George Foreman vs Michael Moorer was a wild one. Moorer was beating George to a pulp until he made his one mistake. He stopped moving long enough for George to literally put his lights out. When George hit him it looked like someone hit a power button. Moorer dropped like a stone.

Boxing has only lost it's appeal because people loved heavyweight fights and other than David Haye the heavyweight division is a disgrace. The welterweight division is an absolutely amazing division and the lightweight division is great as well. There are other great fighters spread out but welterweight is easily the best division.

The best fight ever goes to Castillo-Corrales 1 IMO, toe-to-toe for 10 rounds and then the most amazing finish to a fight in history.

I loved Marquez vs PacMan. Marquez got knocked down three times, got up and boxed well enough to score a draw. Their 2nd bout was good as well. The younger Marquez vs Vasquez fights were great as well.

My favorite fights were all in the 80s. Aaron Pryor vs Alexis Arguello 1 & 2 were great. Sugar Ray vs take your pick were all great wars, too. Modern era is slim pickings but Eric Morales vs Marco Antonio Barrera 1,2 & 3 were action packed.

Yeah this would be my pick. This was a great fight especially going on 3 rounds. I remember the Sports Illustrated cover said something like '9 minutes of fury'.

Those fights in the 80's:Hagler/Hearns, Hearns/Leonard, Leonard/Duran, Hagler/Leonard, Pryor/Arguello IMO will never be duplicated.

The build up to the fight was unbelievable after the fight was canceled due to Hearns broke finger then it was a couple years I believe before they finally did fight.

Tommy Hearns is my favorite all-time-ever fighter. He gave us some of the greatest fights, action and drama during the heyday of the welter-to-middle weight years.

Unfortunately, he lost to Bugger Ray Leonard and Hagler. I know it's sour grapes, but either of those fights coulda' went either way. I still disagree with the stoppage of the first Leonard fight, but whatever.

Also, every time I watch the Hagler-Leonard fight, Hagler beats him up more. Hagler vowed, after getting ripped-off against Vito Autaferrmo, NEVER to allow a fight to go to the cards. That's what happened against the Bugger, and sure enough he got ripped.

If you watch that fight, Haglers demons about not being "beloved" and "popluar" like Leonard came out in the fight. He was totally uncharacteristic in his showboating and carrying-on like Leonard. It was also Leonards first fight back in a few years, so he had to know that everyone and their brother were rooting for Ray.

Hagler still beat him, but he had to knock Leonard out to win given the environment and situation.
