Although I appreciate a good sponge bob song:laugh2: , I think it is a little early to say best draft in years.

I think Spencer will pan out and we have the Browns first next year but everyone drafted after spencer could easily wind up being a bust.

I would like to DITTO your comments.....:starspin

Ooooh, now I get it. Because the Skins had a bad draft, that in turn makes ours a good one..........

Relax. Reread. There is a key word in my post. "Also."
That the Skins were blasted for a lousy draft means they probably won't be competitive and will likely continue being our patsies in the future.
You are too literal.
No, one bad draft there has no relation to ours (duh! duh!).
That was just the gravy.
OK, just for that, remove your military self and go sing "It's The Best Day Ever."
It might make you less of a curmudgeon. ;)

Although I like the draft the paper, to claim at this point that it's "the best in years" strikes me as case of premature jubilation. Time will tell. I hope you're right.

Suddenly, I am getting really excited about how Wade is going to use Carpenter now that we have Spencer. I think Carp would have worn out at OLB, I think Spencer will be great at OLB in in 2008...I hope Wade has Carpenter doing everything along the LB spots, using his athleticism. I think that Carp is fast, big, but isn't really strong. He would be better used doing a bit of everything. Watch out. This defense is not going to even resemble last years defense. We will either explode to have an incredible year or be exposed...But at least we won't play scared like last year. Phillips has too much pride.

I agree with you though...seriously I don't wish the Commanders to do horrible or wish injury on any teams like the Eagles or 'skins, but I am not going to complain if they make mistakes, that is thier problem that they can't draft well. All I can do is thank them for having Vinny Cerrato as thier GM and having the Eggles draft Kevin Kolb.

I agree with most in this trhead. I beleive that this could be considered a good one a few years from now.

The best thing about this draft was the fact that we didn't have an absolute need to begin with. No "reaches" necessary.

I'm sorry, but I have to disagree with this.

We really needed help at Corner, NT, WR, and LB.

Spencer is an excellent DE, but is he an OLB? I hope so.

Drafting Slash Jr, a Kicker, FB, and a 175 lb Corner doesn't cut it.

No matter how I look at it, this weekend's draft was a good one.
No draft can address every need, but a lot of needs were filled or the attempt was made to fill them.

Spencer will be spectacular along with Ware and Carp.

Martens will be great given some time to develop.

This calls for a celebratory song:

"The Best Day Ever"
Sung by SpongeBob SquarePants

Mr. Sun came up and smiled at me
Said: ‘It's gonna be a good one, just wait and see'
Jumped out of bed and I ran outside
I feel extra, ecstatic-fied!

It's The Best Day Ever!
(Best Day Ever!)
It's The Best Day Ever!
(Best Day Ever!)

I'm so busy, got nothing to do
Spent the last two hours just tying my shoe
Every flower, every grain of sand
Is reaching out to shake my hand

It's The Best Day Ever!
(Best Day Ever!)
It's The Best Day Ever!
(Best Day Ever!)

Sometimes the little things start closing in on me
When I'm feeling down
I wanna lose that frown
I stick my head out the window
And I look around!

Those clouds don't scare me, they can't disguise
This magic that's happening right before my eyes
Soon Mr. Moon will be shining bright
So the Best Day Ever can last all night

Now It's The Best Day Ever!
(Best Day Ever!)

Gee, Patrick, I feel better already!

Poop

Hand out Kool Aid.

Prediction, Booby Carp will be a back up. Why is Ayodele in Europe, the guy is a 6 year vet.
Next years draft is going to be weak, I hope the Browns get a top3 pick. Mcfadden, Long, and Brohm only things that get me excited and none will be as good as Quinn. Spencer has to be the ****e. I was thinking that this team had a 2 year window for a super bowl, now it seems that this team is done and its on to another 3 year build up.

Gotta love the optimism at this time of year, and it is real difficult to say this is the best draft in years at this point. The hype machine is always in full force at this time of year, and every team thinks they drafted some HOFers.

I think alot of wants were not addressed, getting young prospects at WR and DB would have been great pickups. In the 3-4, really the DT doesn't need a high draft pick, so that should be ok.

At some point soon, we do have to address our needs with youth at WR and DB. I like that we got some help on the OL for once and Spencer. Hopefully this Brown kid can turn into a player, that would be a great find for us.

This was definitely not the sexiest draft in years, but with the extra pick next year, the 08 draft might have a little more sex appeal.

And you still read it.
If you are the insecure type you will probably lose sleep over reading it.
Embrace the successful draft, man, and don't be so bitter, ese.

Remi Ayodele is going to Europe ..... not Akin.

Hahahaa he confused Akin Ayodee with his brother Remi. Hah:banghead:

Bobby Carpenter will be sick this year; so will Kevin Burnett... Please god please. I hope we bench James even if he is making "buku bucks" and play the best player.
