I love Westerns and I love Gary Cooper, but I'm not a fan of that movie.

The miniseries Lonesome Dove has been mentioned and I think that's about as good as stories and performances get.

Dances With Wolves and The Outlaw Josey Wales are great, great Westerns, IMO.

My favorite comedies are Dumb & Dumber, Christmas Vacation, Caddyshack, and Midnight Run.

Couldn't care less about musicals or sci-fi

I'm a huge fan of Westerns as well. There are so many great John Wayne films (John Ford) and Clint Eastwood Films, the list of great western actors is endless. Lonesome Dove is my favorite but it's a Mini-Series so I don't think I can count it as A FILM, per say. You know, I might actually have to go with Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid as best Western Film. JMO of course.

OUTLAW OF JOSEY WALES.... hands down is the best movie of all time.

Dying Aint much of a living

Action – Raiders Of The Lost Ark (BARELY edges out Aliens  )
Musical – Grease
Biopic – tie Malcolm X, Gandhi
Cartoon – The Lion King
Romance – Casablanca
Comedy – Arthur
Science Fiction – Episode IV | Star Wars: A New Hope
Cult – Pulp Fiction
Disaster – Independence Day
Biblical - The Passion Of The Christ
Spy – Dr. No
All-Around & Drama – Citizen Kane
Fantasy – Avatar (gotta place it here since nothing will unseat Star Wars for me)
Thriller – The Silence Of The Lambs
Gangster – The Godfather
War – Saving Private Ryan
Horror – The Exorcist (bar none)
Western – The Wild Bunch
Computer Animation – The Incredibles
Epic – Ben Hur
Sports – Rocky

Best movie overall...Shawshank Redemption.

Best movie growing up...The Goonies.

Awesome under the radar movie.

It's been on a number of lists already but The Shawshank Redemption is one of those movies I've never been able to fully get on board with. Don't get me wrong, it's good but I think it's a little overrated. Despite its length, I actually enjoy The Green Mile more.

Comedy – Raisin Arizona

Drama – Legends of the Fall

Horror – the Thing - Alien

Sci Fi – Terminator 2

Western – Anything with John Wayne

I can appreciate that view about High Noon.It is not a typical western movie.John Wayne thought that the movie was "un -American".Cooper's marshall character made a big impression on me growing up(along with Peck's Atticus Finch).

I was all about the cheesy 80's ninja movies. Still have some on VHS. Sho Kosugi was the man!

Right now my favorite movie of all time is Orphan.

I actually just saw that movie last night. A friend recommended it. It was surprisingly good.
