We know we have no hope of the top guys unless somehow one slips. So we need to look at the best Tackles after the top 2 or 3 and the best Guards and Centers period, since none of them have the rep that will get them picked before us.

Okung, Baluga, Williams, campbell and Davis appear to be the top tackles which ones of those would be likely to fall to us and be worth a first?
Veldheer might be a sleeper that we could get in the second or third.

Iupati seems to be the top guard, But I am intrigued by John Jerry of Ole Miss. Big mean and nasty and played tackle. Funny quote by a scout: Indianapolis residents should think about getting earthquake insurance soon. When John Jerry runs a 40 at the combine, many homes could be destroyed.

Pouncey seems to be the best Center. But taking him in the first? Wonder if he would be around by the second? Though his ability to play all positions would be a big plus. Olsen of Notre Dame might be a possibility- he was the only Irish lineman this year that really looked good.

Yup, I think he definitely fits what we look for, I had him in my first mock and some people seemed turned off by the idea, not sure why, especially if we grab him in the 3rd round or so. I like Jerry a lot.

Plus his initials are JJ, Jerry Jones will love that. :)

I like John Jerry too

he looked pretty good in the Senior Bowl game playing OT

that versatility is a plus

but burm, you're leaving off the best OT, Vladimir Ducasse

Pouncey, Mike Johnson, +Veldheer/Calloway and we are all set.

But I'm trading down to take Pouncey top of 2.

Regarding Pouncey, I thought I read that he could possbily play RT as well, along with C and Guard.

He definitely as the size and frame, though I don't know about his pure athletic ability.

I read that too on Pouncey.

I do know this.

If he had played 3 years at LG at Florida he would be the #1 OG on the board.

And I don't think Iupati would be close.

Ducasse as a tackle..... just not seeing that and we need to look at LT and that is just not what he can be really good at
