I hate to break the news to you. But the offense moore was running the last half of the year was down to a WCO, Short dumps to CeeDee and Pollard.
This is great unless you're no threat to throw deep and defense's are sitting on all your short routes.
The key to this offense will be Dak's ability to get the ball down the field. There's your challenge, If Cooks or Gallup get a step, Daks has to let it fly. Will he?

Dallas lead the league in takeaways the last two years. How many of those points were with the offense still on the bench or on short fields?
Dallas offense has been elite under Moore in both points ***and yardage***.

Did I mention #1 in red zone scoring rate?

Dallas had the 8th most giveaways in the NFL last year. Better in 2021 with 21st but they were 5th in 2020.

It didn't happen much last year but when the defense sucked a few years ago, you had games like this:
https://www.espn.com/nfl/boxscore/_/gameId/401128029

Where the team was down 31-3 and the offense couldn't do anything until the opponents went prevent. End result was 560 yards and 24 points of completely useless offense that get included with your stats.

Pro-football-reference does a summary stat for "expected points" from the offense. Dallas has come in 3rd, 21st, 7th and 7th. Certainly not bad but these pro-Moore posts tend to gloss over all of the turnovers and the egg laid games from the offense during his tenure. He was fired for a reason. You took a shot at fans earlier, are you saying you know better than McCarthy?

Thanks for putting the ball on a tee for me. Nice and high for my driver.

Of those four years you mention, offensive production was:
-Elite
-Broken because Dak was out with no viable BU
-Top-quarter-of-league (minimally)
-Top-quarter-of-league (minimally)

That's what Moore accomplished with a QB who is good, but not elite...and with weaponry of mixed-meh quality.

The scheme change can potentially generate more explosive yardage after the catch plays even if dink-and-dunk is applicable. The notable separation receivers demonstrated in preseason looks really promising to me for regular season play.
Yep, if you hit the receivers in stride...

At the end of the day, some fans think they know better than Moore, some think they know better than McCarthy.

I didn't put anything on the tee for you. I'm just trying to be objective. I think when you account for all factors, the offense has been good. I'm not sure it will be better with McCarthy / Schott. That said, the people putting Moore on a pedastal are ignoring a lot of the problems that could be directly traced to him which cost the team games. The points per game in particular is galling given how frequently they were as a result of the defense or how often the offense set up the other team's offense.

Nice try trying to mask yourself in some silky veil of objectivity. Your motivations are exposed.

Let's examine your sophomoric claim the Dallas only scored because it could cash in checks from the defense:

2019: 1st in yards (400 more than 2nd team rated, TB!)
2020: 14th, with Andy Dalton starting most of the games
2021: 1st in yards
2022: 10th in yards...despite 5 games with a backup QB, a sloth at RB, and one WR with a living pulse.

What defensive players were out on the field, helping accomplish this!?

Humans are pattern-seeking animals. If readers can't find meat here that feeds your mind...there's little hope.
Two years Dak played a full season with Kellen...both times...#1 most prodigious offense. When dealing with shattered pieces...Moore still posted offenses well above average.

There's also this:

With Kellen Moore calling the plays and Dak Prescott still under center, the Cowboys averaged 29.9 PPG since 2019. That is the highest PPG among all NFL offenses during that span.

Fans are always smarter than the guy calling the plays. Always.
I mean is it the fans? Didn’t the team also scapegoat him?

McCarthy sure got what he wanted. One possible threat eliminated.

And Jerry found an excuse he knew he could sell, buying him another year to sell hype and tickets.

Dak and Dunk is back
I didn’t like that style of offense and was used to a high octane offense run by Romo ,but now I understand that this is essential to fit Dakotas skill set and if that’s what it takes to get to a SB, so be it

I mean it’s a wrong that should’ve been made a long time ago: Mike should’ve never been forced Moore.

Honestly I think this offense caters more so to Romo’a skill set especially earlier in his career. Wasted years on their long developing plays that required Romo to create time.

During that timeframe we played what could largely be described as one of the softest schedules in league history. Our division has been a joke up until last year. Fortunate enough to get weak teams from other divisions \ conferences and catch a few teams when they weren't healthy. We posted big numbers against overmatched opponents which still average out nicely even with the losses. We didn't post gaudy numbers or enough victories when truly challenged. That's the real story IMO.

Although Brady was the goat, that dink and dunk offense was the most boring crap to watch.

Give me the Lamonica, Fouts, Moon , Elway and Marino led offenses all day long to watch for sheer football entertainment.

But I'll take a Dink,Dunk&Dak offense if it will get us another ring.

To your point, with some of those sorry offensive lines he had, perhaps it would have better suited him but when TO showed up you have to open up that air show to its max

Dak better have more strength and accuracy in his arm if he is gonna try to hit these receivers in stride. Big weakness of his. As well as not seeing the entire field and locking down on his receiver. Leads to INTs by defenders jumping in front. Pick 6, anyone?

Let's hope he's got this offense down and his head on straight. Won't matter how fast the receivers are if they can't get the ball.
