If the goal is to put your best players on the field, here is what I would like to see happen.

1. Trade for Pacman and make him the starter opposite TNew
2. Move Henry to FS.
3. Move Hamlin to SS.
4. Use a 1st rounder on a corner to play nickel

Yes, i realize this leaves Roy on the outside looking in but if he is the wink link, then so be it.

Maybe for 2009 but not for 2008. I would get Henry a little playing time at FS this year with the idea that he will move there full time in 2009. They will save money by cutting or trading RW in 2009 so I think he is gone unless he improves this year.

I would keep Roy in the starting lineup for now and let PacMan work his way into starting down the road. Then have Henry be the 3rd CB and the 1st Rounder be the 4th CB. This would give the 1st Round CB time to learn the NFL and get adjusted and I believe having 4 good CBs is necessary. Who knows, maybe RW will come around....

Maybe looking at doing this in 2009, but not yet.

Henry can't stay healthy at corner, how could he possibly stay healthy at safety?

The best secondary would involve Roy rounding back into form.

Spot on...although it seems no one will ever listen.

You do realize that JJ would never approve of that..Roy has done alot for this team, in the past years.

On paper it has the potential to be a monster of a secondary. As someone noted earlier, if Roy can hold up his end as a feared hitter and savvy pass defener he's shown he can be, the defense will be ferocious. That lineup with the addition of Pacman and an early draft pick at CB/S would give us the most talented group(DBs) by far since the early 90s.

Yeah let's see if he improves first, maybe he can make 2 pro bowls this year.

Henry refused to make the same move while in Cleveland.

Times and attitudes change..but just something to think about.

I would be more than fine with this...

Newman and Henry - CB

Pacman - Nickel CB

Roy - SS

Hamlin - FS
Draft Pick waiting in wings for whoever goes down...Cromartie?

Just bec. some older CBs have been moved to FS, doesn't mean all CBs can move to FS.

Just a thought.

Trade for
PacMan

Draft
CB - Antione Cason (1st)
CB - Justin King (2nd)
S - Tyrell Johnson (3rd)
CB - Jack Ikegwuonu (7th) - sign and place on PUP for the entire year.....allow him to fully recover with the help of the Dallas medical and conditioning staff...and get him ready for 2009

2008 Secondary
CB - Newman, Henry, PacMan, Cason, King
S - Roy, Hamlin, Watkins, Brown, Johnson

Aw hell, I might as well have been Ric Rolled. Didn't see this possibility when I opened this. I'm getting soft. Damn.

Moving Henry to FS would leave is with the same depth issues we have had at CB the whole time. I don't understand it.

Maybe we could go with a 3-2-6 defense all of the time...:)

I was just watching Total Access on NFL network and they were talking about cowboy DBs that could find themselves being odd man out if Pacman is signed. They were talking about Pacman more than likely becoming the starter opposite of Newman and moving henry to FS. That would totally boost up our secondary which in return would allow us to do more exotic blitzes to get to the QB with our LBs. Just think about it, Newman and Pacman manning the CB postion, Henry at free safety and move Hamlin to SS where he played in Seattle with Roy subbing in. Obviously Roy wouldnt be none happy about this but I could care less with his horrible play last season, its about making the team better. Henry had said a couple seasons back that he wouldnt mind the move to safety when we were contemplating to that, so that would be gravy right there. What are you guys thoughts on this possibility?
