Assuming Goff and Wentz are gone, which is the best option:

1) Lynch at 4
2) Lynch at 15 + Titans 2s (Tunsil)
3) Cook in 2nd
4) Hackenberg in 3rd
5) Dak in 3rd
6) other QB in 4/5/6

2 is hypothetical. The rest seem likely possibilities.

Considering QB only, and that the Titans won't trade, the Cowboys have to go get Lynch at 4. With only 3 elite prospects you have to take Lynch when he's available.

As much as I want to believe that Lynch is a franchise guy. I have doubts and wonder how a guy went from the top rated qb 3 months ago, now he is the 3rd best rated?

I dont think Lynch makes it out of the Top 10 after the recent trades to be honest. SF is the next team to watch with respect to QBs.

At this point, if we dont like Lynch i am not sure i would draft a QB at all. I dont care for Cook and although i do find Hackenburg and Prescott somewhat intriguing, history has not been kind to QBs drafted in the late rounds (after round 2).

We have too many defensive needs to take a QB in first three rounds. It will be Hackenberg, Dak or the highest rated other guy in 4th.

You can't expect to fill all of your needs in one draft. If they see Lynch, Cook, Hackenberg or anyone else as a possible franchise QB you take him when you can.

That may be exactly what they do but as the article at the below link shows, the odds of developing a mid-round QB into something are extremely low.

I'm aware of the stats regarding mid round QB's. Since I believe Romo is good to go five more years I'm not in hurry. If we don't find the future in the mid rounds by 2018. Then we can start thinking about a first round guy in 2019.

I guess that is where we will just agree to disagree. I don't see any way that Romo manages 5 more years. As a Romo fan, I hope I am wrong and will be happy to admit it but I just dont see it.

#4 Joey Bosa Ohio DE Ohio St.
#34 Kendall Fuller CB VT
#67 Sheldon Day DT ND
That fills a lot of holes then...
#101 Christian Hackenberg QB Penn St
#135 C.J. Prosise RB ND
#189 Dadi Nicolas OLB VT
#212 Demarcus Robinson WR Florida
#216 Wayne Lyons CB Michigan
#217 Cassanova Mckinzy ILB Auburn

The only way I could get more depressed at missing out on a true franchise potential QB in Goff or Wentz would be then wasting the 34th pick on Connor Cook and his noodle arm.

You need to come to the realization that Romo can't be counted on for 5 more years...

Jerry is that you?

That's your opinion which you are entitled to. It's not a good policy to tell people that they need to come to so and so realization. The facts are Romo played well in 2014 after back surgery. Collarbone is no problem bones break it happens.

Not a good policy? I'm just going with the odds bro. Name me 3 QB's who have played at a high level until they were 41? Not to mention a QB who has a bad back that has had to alter practice schedules etc. I'll wait....

Facts are Romo will be two years older when this season kicks off.

It really is wishful thinking that they will get 5 elite level years out of Romo.

I'd take option 2 and even some others

My least favorite would be option 1
