I can only see the top 6. I'm just curious, what makes the '89 49ers so much better than the '84 49ers? At least the '84 49ers beat a damn good team in the Super Bowl.

I have a PFF subscription and they are all but shut down this time of the year. I suspect this was tweeted by one of their college interns.

Not even on the list:
A top three all-time team (if not best) was '91 Washington team under Gibbs. They simply *crushed* teams by margins never seen w/any other team. They had it all.

Top three all-time (in no order)
-91 Washington
-89 SF
-07 Patriots

The 92 Cowboys get a mention.

2023 Cowboys

Sorry, couldn’t resist

For you other guys

“2023 anyone but the Cowboys”

Seriously though, there is an argument to be made for all of those teams finishing ahead of the 92 Cowboys.

That Pats team would be #1 if not for the wildcard Giants saving the NFL for another nauseating annual “undefeated” celebration every time the last unbeaten team went down.

Hate those Dolphins. They had six hall of farmers, just like the Cowboys, they just played in a 14 game season.

First of all the 73 Dolphins were a better team than 72 .

And I’m not sure how you have a list of best all time without listing one of 60’s Packers teams which are only team in NFL history to win 5 Rings.

And if you’re going to list the 07 Patriots who were upset in SB , the 68 Colts were arguably the greatest team ever upset in SB.

I’ll list it by greatest teams of the decades .

1. Steelers 70’s- most dominating team in my lifetime
2. Browns- 40’s & 50’s- 7 championships
2. Packers- 60’s- 5 NFL titles
3. 49ers - 80’s- 4 Rings
4. Cowboys 90’s- 1st team to win 3 out of 4 SB
5. Cowboys 70’s- 5 Super Bowls , 2 Rings and 7 champ appearances
6. Dolphins - 70’s - 3 consecutive SB’s, back to back Rings
7. Wash 80’s - 3 SB rings
8. Raiders- 70’s and early 80’s- 3 SB rings
9. 70’s Vikings and 90’s Bills best to not win a SB with both 4 SB losses
10. Patriots - Best of Cap era dominating 2 decades 2000 & 2010’s with 6 SB rings

yeah imo there is no best team ever.
And if you wanted to do a best team of a decade, it should be a team that had more than one great year.
The GB team was the best in the 60's Steelers were best in 70's NE had one decade where they did great maybe 2, Dallas might have the 90s.

But they all play against the competition, and some periods maybe the competition just wasnt very good.

Could the 85 bears beat the 92 cowboys or the current KC team? who knows.

If you lined them against each other?

Teams from the 90's on would have decided advantage over teams from 70's & before.

85 Bears were legit but they were also dirty. With any kind of officiating, half their players would get ejected.

I would put the 90's Cowboys up against any team in history and feel pretty good about my chances.

9ers, Commanders, Patriots & Rams were teams worthy of consideration for sure. Upgrade the QB and that Baltimore team might take the top spot.

Yea, I prefer picking the best teams overall . Winning one championship IMO doesn’t qualify as best team

No doubt that 85 Bears defense was about as dominating as we have seen. But I’d put up the 70’s Steeler team against them . And the late 80’s Giants and 49er teams knocked them off after their one big Super Bowl Shuffle season.

Interestingly most of the greatest defensive teams which have won a Super Bowl, only won 1. I’d take those Steelers and 49 ers teams which had great defenses and offenses . Much like the 90’s Cowboys.

The 85 Bears would've never scored vs the 92/93 Cowboys.

For some reason, our back to back super bowl winners are grossly underrated. I'm not sure they are not the best of all time. We routinely shut down great D players such as Reggie White, and our D simply screwed up other team's Os consistently. We were studs on both sides of the ball, best teams of all time.

Da’ Bears for me. I mean they came out with SB Shuffle before the season was even finished.

I believe the 85 Bears were just ahead of their time. Similar to a lot of trends. Running a “46” defense wouldn’t fly due to teams opening it up. This is why the Dolphins gave them fits because they could spread the defense out and create mismatches.

It’s one of those, I wish the Dolphins / Bears Super Bowl happened. That would’ve been amazing to see (I wasn’t born yet lol)
