Best team of all time?

Most dominant SB win I remember was Pittsburgh/ Minnesota 1974. The 16 to 6 beat down was nowhere near that close and the outcome never in doubt. Pittsburgh held them to 119 total yards, 9 first downs, forced 5 turnovers, and held future HOFer Tarkenton to a 14.1 QB rating.
Certainly one of the best defenses to take the field. They had at least four shutouts that season.

16 points from an offense is the most dominant superbowl win of all time?

Not even close

The 1993 Dallas Cowboys beatdown of the Bills 52-17, 1990 49ers team that scored 55, and the 1995 49ers beatdown of the Chargers with 49 points all say “hello”.

Was at the niners beat down with brother playing, tried selling my ticket but the offer wasn’t high enough in Miami that day.

People forget about those Commanders teams. That '91 team was probably the best team ever.

I would take the 1993 Dallas Cowboys against any team in the Super Bowl era. Period.

Losers walk the field.
Last team before the salary cap and free agency stopped dynasties and consistent starters/depth.

Close enough to today that player size and skill set could compete with today’s athletes.

Great defense, offense and special teams. Dominant lines both sides. HOF Coach.

Not a homer pick, it’s the best pick.

I can only see the top 6. I'm just curious, what makes the '89 49ers so much better than the '84 49ers? At least the '84 49ers beat a damn good team in the Super Bowl.
I guess because the 89 49ers were so dominant in the playoffs. They put up 41 against Minnesota, 30 against the Rams and capped it off with a Super Bowl record 55 points against Denver, which was the biggest Super Bowl blowout ever. I’m still pissed off at Leon Lett for blowing what would’ve been 59 points against Buffalo. The Bills even got away with Frank Reich crossing the line of scrimmage and throwing a TD pass. The Cowboys would have won that game 59-10.

85 bears and ain‘t even close.
They had the all-time greatest defense, but their offense wasn’t all that special. Jim McMahon was an average QB and Walter Payton was past his prime. Although they only lost one game, they got cut up pretty bad by Dan Marino. The Bears were dominated in that game. The Dolphins should be at the top. They’re the only team in NFL history to have a perfect season.

The 85 bears weren't just good. They humiliated everybody, LOL.
This is where it's at for me. Of course the teams can't play each other from different ages so there's no use trying to compare more modern athletes with previous ones so for me, you go with how dominant they were among their peers and the Bears had no peers except the 1 game hiccup against Miami. Closest thing to a sure thing I ever saw.

I put money on 92 Cowboys against those Bears. OL would manhandled that front and wear them down.
Take your homer cap off. Lol No one was going to manhandle that 85 Bears front. You would’ve lost some money. Miami was the only team that beat them and they carved them up with the passing game with one of the all-time great passers. Dan Marino was on fire that night.

The 92 team was better and you aren’t going to find a ranking that has our 93 team ranked ahead of that team. Buffalo gave us a battle for 3 quarters in the 93 Super Bowl. We completely mowed them down the previous year. That was the greatest Cowboys team ever.

The best defense in my opinion. Yes, they had 4 shutouts and two of them were in the playoffs. They only gave up 10 points in postseason. That was a terrifying defense.

The 92 Cowboys get a mention.

The 92 Cowboys would have beaten Buddy Ryan's 85 Bears like they beat his 92 Eagles. Dent and Hampton were great but they were not on Reggie White's level. Erik Williams kicked Reggie's backside. Imagine what he would have done to Dan Hampton...

Dude, you stole my post. Was just about to mention the same thing.

But let's not forget that before 'Boys beat his 92 Eagles--playoffs, and in their second regular season match...Philly thumped Dallas in a game where Aikman was sacked 10 times. Those battles were titanic.

And the Bears wouldn't have been able to score against our D.

Agree and why I would like the 93 team chances against any team.
This is why you have to judge teams by the era they played in. There’s been a number of rule changes over the years. A large number of the sacks the 85 Bears put up, would’ve been nullified due to penalties. The way they protect QBs these days the 85 Bears may have only ended up with 20 sacks. The 85 Bears were head hunters. They would launch right at the head and neck area of the QB. Many of their sacks would have been late hits under today’s rules. The body weight rule of landing on top of a QB would’ve destroyed a lot of their sacks.

I agree. Especially the SB results had a lot to do with it. IMO, neither 49ers team had any real competition in the playoffs. But the 1984 team had to actually beat a good team in the SB.
