Ok, I've read up on it. LG is trying to pass off 60 hz tvs as 120 hz ones. (although that is the same technology that causes soap opera effect)

Do you have any specific reccomendations?

I can only judge them from what I can read up on them. At your price point the LEDs are likely going to have something "flawed". I did notice someone recommending this sony model non 3d(it has good amazon reviews but who knows) on avs but I have no idea how good it is either or if you are willing to buy from the internet. Plasma at this price point might be better but thicker of course.

Sony KDL46EX645 46-Inch 1080p MotionFlow 240HZ Internet Slim LED HDTV (Black)699.99 shipped

It was discussed and compared to a Vizio here:

Someone on that page also mentioned that they called Sony and got it for 650 shipped. (sony website shows no longer available)

I use a 55" panasonic vierra plasma for my xbox and love it. I probably won't ever get a tv other than a panasonic, never had a problem with any of them.

For the price of around $700, this is one to consider...

It does many other things as well, a really good TV IMO. Also, I don't notice any 'soap opera' effects on 99% of the shows and movies, only the rare instance.

Speedkillz thanks for all of your help. I appreciate it.

This is a really difficult task just to get a decent tv that doesn't have a bunch of lag time or ghosting on video games.

It's so bad on the TV I have now that I probably wont notice the difference with a new TV.

Alright. It will probably be a couple of weeks. Im going to scout it out a little.

It's for a bedroom so im not going all in. I may even go with a 42 inch tv so I can get a little better quality.

As a few others said... If you absolutely don't want any lag, how about a plasma? Far better refresh rates than LCD/LED (won't lag or ghost, ever) and they usually cost less for the same size screen. The old problems of burn in and eating tons of electricity have pretty much been solved.

FYI, starting around April, Target starts clearing out this year's models to make room for the next. I've gotten 70% off before. They'll be reduced 30%, then 50%, then 70%

I agree. Go with a plasma and you won't worry about any type of lag. LED will have brighter colors, but plasma will have the better overall experience.

I use to swear by LED/LCD and didn't touch a plasma. About 1 1/2 years ago, my LCD went out and I spent awhile researching and ended up with a Samsung Plasma - D8000 series and I LOVE IT to this day.

FYI - I play a PS3 on it pretty often and have had no issues.

^^This^^

My nephew has brought his xbox 360 over several times, and connected it to the plasma with no problems. Great colors, fast refresh rate, etc. He said he plans to buy one when he gets his new apartment.

I went with a Samsung 6030 40 inch over a Samsung 6100 Smart TV.

Really hope I made the right choice. I like it but I don't know if the 6100 is any better or not.
