What are, in your opinion, the Cowboys most complete victory and most utter defeat of the past five years? Since we've been competitive since 2003, I thought that would be an appropriate starting date.

If I'm choosing the best W, I've got to go with the Bills game last year, that 25-24 triumph. I still can't believe we won that game.

As for the worst game, I'm going to eschew those playoff losses and go for the 42-17 loss against the Saints in '06. We hadn't been outplayed that bad in every facet of the game in a very long time, and that really kicked off all these December woes that we see in our playoff era. Something in that game hasn't allowed our team to recover in December, and that really got the "I hate Roy" bandwagon in full swing.

What are yours?

Oh, and this thread also needs this:

Off the top of my head:

Most Complete - vs. Eagles in 2005 when Bledsoe and Glenn ran roughshod over Birds.

Worst/Devastating - at Seattle in playoff. We could not take advantage of street free agents and of course the Romo mishap.

Cowboys vs. Colts

Romo proved he could play with the big boys

Cool thread. I've decided to post my top 5 of each because I'm bored. Here are my top 5 best and worst wins/losses since 2003 (excluding playoff games):

Best 5 Wins

Week 11 of 2006 season: Colts at Cowboys (W 21-14, showed we could play with the big boys)
Week 13 of 2004 season: Cowboys at Seahawks (W 43-39, I think this game took 5 years off my life)
Week 09 of 2007 season: Cowboys at Eagles (W 38-17, this game showed that Philly's days of ruling the NFC East were over)
Week 12 of 2003 season: Panthers at Cowboys (W 24-20, the Tuna said it himself in the post-game press conference that it was the best win he's had in Dallas at that time)
Week 8 of 2006 season: Cowboys at Panthers (W 35-14, this game showed who our QB of the future was after a lot of doubt the week before against NYG)

Worst 5 Losses
Week 10 of 2004 season: Eagles at Cowboys (L 49-21, it was MNF and that was just plain embarrassing)

Week 2 of 2005 season: Commanders at Cowboys (L 14-13, Roy and Aaron Glenn...enough said)

Week 15 of 2005 season: Cowboys at Commanders (L 35-7, that game was over after the first series)

Week 14 of 2006 season: Saints at Cowboys (L 42-17, after the Cowboys teasing they could reclaim the top spot in the NFC, we were quickly brought down to earth)

Week 5 of 2006 season: Cowboys at Eagles (L 38-24, big plays given up = a big loss)

Worst loss is easy. The playoff loss to the Giants in January when we simply gave away a gift wrapped game. Best win was the pounding we put on the Eagles in Philly last year.

I agree.

Saints blowout was the worst, but that botched FG in Washington is a close second.

Great topic.

5 Best Wins
  1. Week 5, 2007. 25-24 over the Bills. This game is simply an instant classic. I will never forget the Commanders fans meltdown. I laughed so hard.
  2. Week 10, 2005. 21-20 over the Eagles. Knocking McNabb out of the season and snatching victory from the jaws of defeat was just poetry.
  3. Week 11, 2006. 21-14 over the Colts. They were undefeated and we were starting the Romo era for real.
  4. Week 13, 2006. 23-20 over the Giants. The 400th win in Franchise History.
  5. Week 1, 2005. 28-24 over the Chargers. Great way to start the season, a win on the road against a great team.

5 Worst Losses

  1. 2007 playoff loss to the Giants. I will go to my grave believing we were the best team in the NFC and gave it away.
  2. 2006 playoff loss to the Seahawks. We had them, and I think we could have beaten the Bears.
  3. Week 14, 2006. Lost 17-42 to the Saints. They exposed us.
  4. Week 17, 2006. Lost 31-39 to the Lions. Mike Furrey throwing the football into the star and breaking it still pisses me off.
  5. Week 9, 2006. Lost 19-22 to the Commanders. The FG game. 15 yard face mask? Bull.

By year:
2003-
Best Win 24-20 over Carolina
Worst loss 21-40 Thanksgiving vs Miami

2004
43-39 Julius runs wild vs Seattle
21-49 TO & McNabb destroy us

2005
21-20@Philly Roy rips out the hearts of Philly's faithful
7-35@Washington. Bledsoe is eaten alive

2006
21-14 defeat the unbeaten Colts bas Romo outplays Peyton Manning
20-21 bobbled snap at Seattle, nuff said.

2007
37-27 Cowboys laid the smackdown on Brett Favre and the Pack, ensuring that he remains winless at Texas Stadium
17-21 divisional playoffs vs the Giants. So many missed opportunities to win the ball game. Just eats at me.

Worst Loss:

Week 10, 2004 49-21 to the Philadelphia Eagles.

I completely forgot about how sweet that W was, along with hearing all of the Linc completely silent after Roy took that pick to the house and Bradie ended McChunky's season.

Also produced one hell of a picture.
