Speaking of "Texas Chain Saw"... I did enjoy the remake with R.L. Emery playing the evil sheriff.
Man... that guy is creepy and very believable.
Tissue?

Remakes are crap.
I will list only the ones that I think were good or better than original.
- Manchurian Candidate
- The Fly
- Oceans 11
- Dirty Rotten Scoundrels
- No Way Out
Oh my... look at this crap... 124 movie remakes in the making

I liked the Dawn of the Dead remake. I know some hate it because it went from slow to fast zombies but I thought the interaction with characters were much better than the original.
No Way Out is not a remake, they just have the same title

I thought the remake of the Flight of the Phoenix was just as good or better than the original.
I would like to see a few remakes
Flash Gordon - been saying it for years and Yes I know they meant for the ships and stuff to look campy...But I would like to see a remake where they have the same ability to have fun but with better effects.
Swamp Thing - As bad as the first two were I liked them. However for a Remake I would like for them to take the movies darker....take out the comedy aspects of them. Make the effects much better than a terrible rubber suit. Make him more of a dark anti-hero. IF they did it right it would be just the right thing for DC.
Buck Rogers - I think a TV series reboot from the early 80's one. Make it more serious. Kind of how they did battlestar galactica.
Lethal Weapon movie to TV series went well, I enjoy that show.
Strange, as I was drawing a blank until you mentioned him, then I was like ' yeah, and I can't believe he sullied his brand by going over to the dark side' in that movie,so yes! I remember seeing that one.Speaking of "Texas Chain Saw"... I did enjoy the remake with R.L. Emery playing the evil sheriff.

Considering this is about the closest setting for this question posed to you Brain Paint, what's your analytical movie review: Troma's Toxic Avenger? Good, bad,,, hilariously campy?
Ahhh... I just went off an internet list.
I'm not old enough to know those facts without researching. ;-)
copy that!I like some campy movies. Some I liked as a younger man that when I try to watch them now I just don't care for as much. Ice Pirates was a movie I really loved at one time. Had not seen it in years, bought it a year or so ago and for the life of me I don't know how I used to like it as I could barely sit through it now.
I think that is probably how I would feel about most of the Tromaville movies now. Really liked them as a kid but would probably not be able to sit through most of them now.
However there are also some cheesy and campy old zombie movies that I still like to watch on occasion like I did years ago...like the return of the living dead movies.
Some other decent remakes...The Thing....Scarface....True Grit come to mind.?
I have never seen a movie remake that was better than the original.
Good list but Alien Resurrection wasn't a remake. It was a continuation of the story. And yes, it sucked.Truthfully most remakes fall flat for me.. Also Hollyweird blew chances for good TV Series movies to the big screen and they were awful
1-Point Break--I hated this remake,it wasn't necessary and truthfully I really thought it was garbage. We are so cool with a bunch of crappy tattoos. Johnny Utah follows Bodi because why??? It made no sense. What to get a thrill climbing rocks????
2-Brady Bunch-Great family TV Series and Hollyweird who hates families made them a joke.
3-Charlie's Angels-GIRLPOWER!!! Nah I rather have had the hottest chicks at that time be the Angels probably Pam Anderson,Jennifer Lopez, and maybe Catherine Zeta-Jones. They made them unbelievable with the fake martial arts nonsense.
4-The Lost Boys----just terrible
6-Freddy Krueger--No one beats Robert Englund being Freddy
7-Alien Ressurrection-Boring
8-The Green Hornet-I completely hate Seth Rogan for this. This was his whole movie and it was horrible from directing, script,to his garbage acting.
Well there is some of mine ,how about yours???
Yes, and I thought it was way better than the original. The Thing (1982) was a remake of a 1951 film The Thing from another world.
