It's hard to compare a Left Tackle and a defensive end head to head and say who's better.
Not like they were division rivals and they played head to head 20 times in their career.
Tyron Smith at his peak was a top left tackle in the NFL. Right along with Joe Thomas, and both made the all decade team.
JJ Watt at his peak was damn near a 20 sack per year player. 3 DPOY, and also all decade team member.
I always think back and say what if we had Watt in 2014/2016 could we of gotten by the Packers, but then we would of had a huge question mark at LT/inconsistent Free there.
I think both can still play at a good enough level for more years if they wanted too. Watt should end the year with double digit sacks and Smith is playing RT for the first time in a decade and coming off a severe injury, so him being off for the Eagles game isn't too surprising.
But, Watt is calling it quits and to be determined for Smith. But I believe 20+ teams would take Smith, injury concerns and all, in a heartbeat next year.
