Aren't the Eagles still willing to trade Lito?

Considine is a strong safety, and Roy obviously has the edge there.
The top three cornerbacks for each team would be fairly even as units, but our depth behind the top three is much better. And Watkins is better than any of their backup safeties (and maybe better than Considine, too).

Hey its hard to be a Cowboy fan in Eagle Country, but its true!AsthmaField;2099797 said:That's kinda my point. It will be more difficult to do that this year.
Reeves was the one getting picked on. Eli will have a much more difficult time doing that this year, with the likes of Pacman or Jenkins playing instead of Reeves or Jones.
Now, please don't give me another example of the Dallas coverage from last season... it's not very relevant to this year unless you speak directly about Newman or Henry.
Sure you're not.:shush:

Newman who spent most of the beginning of the season injured locked down his side of the field, took away the slot receiver and made game changing plays in the season
Henry lead the team in INT's and until he was injured was leading the NFC in INT's. He rarely gave up the big play, and was a major reason why newman was not missed as much in the beginning.
Hamlin was a pro-bowl safety, and was a major cog in our pass defense doing so well last year.
You wanna say prove it, say it to Roy, say it to Pacman, even Jenkins, but with a guy like Reeves playing second almost all year, our defense held its own against almost every offense.
And until proven otherwise, our secondary is better than there's.
Boysboy;2100111 said:As a UNIT, we nonetheless have alot of room for improvement.
Sure, in that Giants' playoff game, Eli, on the stat sheet, didn't exactly set the world on fire with some ONLY 100 passing yards. HOWEVER-the Giants' receivers DID make alot of critical catches during critical junctures of the game.(i.e. the end of the 1st half, quick-scoring TD drive, the go-ahead drive in the 4th qtr, etc)
With that being said-hopefully, letting Jacques Reeves go, getting Mike Jenkins/Pacman could solve alot of problems in the secondary. And who knows? Roy may come in this season playing with HEART, especially with a chip on his shoulder.
dargonking999;2100114 said:I don't disagree, but I do not think the eagles getting Samuel made up the difference in secondary's from last year.
Remember we tore them apart at phily, and it was the defense that kept them in the second game.
We always look the best on paper but never play like it. Let's hope this year is different.playmakers;2099144 said:Another board (its Eagles) I go to has a fierce debate going. I said its a wash if your looking at it objectively. Eagles fans say them hands down. I know look at the source. Heres my take
Samuel vs Newman = wash. IMO, Newmans a better player but trying to be objective and putting everything together a wash can be fair.
Pacman vs Brown = Pacman easiley
Lito Sheppard vs Henry or Jenkins= Lito
Dawkins vs Roy W= Dawkins
Considine vs Hamlin = Hamlin
2-2-1
Its a good debate I like to hear Cowboys opinions on this. Next opinons says??????????
