AMERICAS_FAN;3200207 said:If there are two things that Dallas should be worried about (and by the way, something similar on Dallas' end that I hope Garrett is working in) it should be these 2 things:
First: Is the Eagles lining up Westbrook and Vick in the same backfield. With McNabb, that gives them 3 mobile backs and 2 QBs. If Dallas plays man-to-man, I think they can defend this. Dallas could always scare the hell out of the Eagles defense too by lining up Felix Jones and Crayton (a former QB) in their backfield, or just go with Barber and Jones, along with Romo. Has Dallas dome much of Jones and Barber in the same backfield this year and how has that gome...anyone know?
Second: Is the no-huddle offense. I think Philly will come out with this set early to keep the same base-defense personnel on Dallas' defense in for an entire series or two...or more. This is their best shot at keeping Dallas' defense vanilla by dictating a series of plays to them. However, Dallas could always throttle Philly's defense with similar stuff. How well has Dallas' D faired against the no-huddle this season...and how much no-huddle has Dallas' offense run this season and how successful has it been...anyone know?
Beyond these two kinds of trickery, I don't see how the Eagles can muster and advantage over Dallas. But hopefully if they do this, Dallas is prepared with some similar trickery of their own - and I'm not talking about the wildcrap either.
Your thoughts….?
where we have shown vunerability is against spread formation simply because our DB field is not too deep. Philly could come out with 3 WR, one TE, one back set and spread the team and go no huddle. that would put 5 potential pass catchers three of which have deep speed on the field. we would have trouble against that type of scheme. to offset that we would need to rush the passer very effectively and blitz one or two players to disrupt their flow. they could also run from that formation against a smaller 3-4 defensive front since celek would be a blocker and westbrook is good in space.
