nice post. i really dont see anything different from this yr to last. people seem to think dallas will have the same kind of stats Sd had on defense but they're forgetting one thing. Sd has better overall talent. i hope the cowboys win the superbowl. but it wont suprise me if the team has the same success/failure they did this yr.
O RLY? Look at the column on the far right. If you don't think you'll see a difference you're half has bright as I thought you were.

when u have a coach(zimmer) say on national radio that he was glad to be in atlanta and to have cb's who do what they're told. plays a big part in this too. he didnt name names when he said it on the radio show(LBOH). but he was talking specifically about the secondary. and just by looking at the team on the field. when making adjustments on the field before the play(during audibles) you could clearly see they didnt know what they were doing. so before we just put blame on coaching u have to think maybe these guys just arent as good of players as we the fans think they are.

yeah Zimmer...chief knucklehead...master of of the 12 second drop back and the infamous "3 man line, cover with 8 and still leave gaping holes 20 yds downfield to throw in"

Sorry CoCo. although it's a well thought out post, your opinion does not compute. The glass is indeed half full from this perspective.

BP is a better coach that Wade.

The jury is way out on Wade.

I for one do not like many of the coaching hires [the guy hired his kid???]

I think we are a poorer team when it comes to the coaching staff.

BP WAS a better coach than Wade...BP hasnt won jack in 16 yrs and didnt win jack here

Wade is a FAR better defensive coach than BP at this stage, and its not even close

I know a large % of the board is excited about Wade running our defense. Ware will garner Merriman stats
Actually it's Ellis (provided he returns) who will playing the part of Merriman on our D.

Either he will (fix the defense) or he won't. I'd much rather hope that he does than hope that he can't.

That's my point. Many thought the coaching would make the difference. But in the end, if our 2006 Parcells coached defense was bad, maybe it wasn't all scheme/coaching as has become very popular to decry. Maybe, like in 2002, that's as good as these particular players are gonna be without replacing some/many.

Yeah maybe it wasn't the lack of adjustments within the scheme. Those opposing players and coaches are full of crap. We invested quite heavily in defensive talent so why haven't we cut them especially with Phillips on board who knows a thing or two about defensive player talent and how to get the most out of the 3-4.

We will rue the day we hired Wade Phillips. :D

Can i hear a Tony Romo chant??? How about Jason Witten??? Marc Columbo??? Andre Gurode???? Greg Ellis???

I am talking about players that BP inherited and by his guidance helped them get over the hump. I'm talking about players who under Campo & Co could not get it done because Campo didn't know how to coach. But when Bill arrived, and knew how to maximize the talents of those same players, the problems were suddenly solved. You know, like we're expecting from Wade with our problematic defense.

None of the players you've listed negate my point. None of them were underachievers w/Campo but broke through under Parcells. Gurode might fit the mold a bit but I'd contend it was as much the natural progression of an O-lineman learning the NFL.

I'm not criticizing Parcells. I'm pointing out that instead of looking at Phillips as the defense's savior, perhaps the real problem remains. Players! And note that I'm saying "perhaps" because I'm hopeful as well that Wade alone can move us forward. But I'm also cautioning us against a Wade fixes all mentality, or BP/Zimmer being gone fixes all.

Did Al post that info on his internet:lmao:

First of all, I am not a hard core conservative, liberal, Democrat, Republican or card carrying member of any political group. That being said, the Al Gore stuff is way off. He never claimed to have invented the internet. If you do a Google search, you will easily find that Al Gore never made such a claim.

The first time I heard of the internet and had the concept of what we now know as the internet explained to me, I was in college. It was Al Gore who was talking it up, but he called it the Information Super Highway. He was not Vice-President yet. Several years later, when he was VP, I remember mockingly asking him through the TV where his Information Super Highway was. A year or so later I had my answer. It was popping up everywhere.

Again, I'm not some Al Gore fan, but I did see an Inconvenient Truth just this passed weekend. Al Gore never said the planet is doomed. In fact, he said our problems with Global Warming are very much reversable.

For those who haven't seen it, the information presented is alarming and real. The downfall of the movie is the overly dramatic scenes of Gore looking out a window thinking, or talking. There are several of those in the movie. I think the movie would have been better received if all of those scenes had been deleted because no body should think the movie is even remotely about Al Gore, which it makes it seem.

While I am not an Al Gore fan or even a self-proclaimed liberal I am a fan of the internet and of being better stewards to our planet and I will listen openly to anyone who wants to promote either.

I tried to be careful to not express any political affiliations, beliefs or agendas. Gore never claimed to invent the internet. I was only trying to save my fellow Cowboy fans from ignorance. Isn't that what forums are all about?

As a documentary, An Inconvenient Truth was good. It was informative and by my personal views, alarming. As a movie, I found it to be a little too self-serving and political.

If the mods wish to delete these posts for infringing upon any rules that disallow political banter I understand.

This forum entry was not paid for or endorsed by any political parties.

The only ones that were right when BP came here, were the ones that told the Cowboys' fans to be ready for a conservative, ball-control type of offense. Wins and losses would be close, etc.

Say what you want about Sean Salisbury, but he was dead on when he stated what we should expect from BP. We got EXACTLY what he said we would from BP.

Not only that, but I DO believe that BP held our team back offensively....I don't think he put enough trust in the players to perform. There are pros and cons to this type of thinking, but these ARE professional football players and the coaches SHOULD be able to expect them to do things when told....but again, it depends on what is going on in practice, etc.

Yet... oddly enough... with Vandy as our kicker Bill admitted to taking more offensive chances and we were so much a ball control type team... we were explosive... THEN we get a somewhat reliable kicker in Vandy and we pull the reigns in.... maybe a good thing (BIG PICTURE).... now we know what this team can REALLY do when you let it loose a little
