Sources say she did indeed lip synch-a whole lot better than Ashley Simpson.

:donthear:

Didn't Whitney lip-synch at the Super Bowl too?
I don't think it's all that big a deal. Not as bad as Milli Vanilli or whatever.

I always thought Houston did that live, not sure though.

The majority of events these days are lip-synced anyways IMO. Supposedly, it is for better sound on TV's. After watching these past network award shows, a lot looked lip-synced too.

Taylor Swift needs to look into this because she is horrible on live TV, Black-eyed Peas aren't much better.

Black-eyed peas were horrible that superbowl, I think it was the superbowl.

But yeah they rely on being perfected digitally on recordings, then the difference live is huge in a bad way.

It's kind of unclear, but her musical director said she sang over a pre-recording made a day or so before or something like that.

Tonight's Gonna Be A Good Night. Yeah Tonight's Gonna Be A Good Good Night!

Yeah, really pushing the boundaries of lyrical genius. If they needed to lip synch that nonsense, well, cue the old folks talking about 'the good old days...' :laugh2:

Back in my day all you needed was a fiddle, banjo, and a washboard. No fancy e-lectrical devices required. Either you could hit all the notes and soothe the savage breast, or you made the dogs howl in rueful agony--but no one was fooled in any case. Them were the days alright.

Thats why they have them there fancy electrical devices ala auto tune.....If we did hear their actual voices the dogs would be howling.
:laugh2:

I always assumed the majority of pop stars lip sync.

It's the auto tuned age.

So many artists do this because their fans are disappointed when they see them live that they don't sound like the original version.

And heck, if it wasn't for auto tune half these people wouldn't have a career that lasted more than a few weeks.

What day was that, the 1800's? :laugh2:

We all live in a yellow submarine
Yellow submarine, yellow submarine

A quick question to all of you who are so upset about this.

What difference does it make?

I guess in her defense wasn't it like 11 degrees or something? Would imagine it would be hard to sing in that. She's hot so ill give her a pass.

Sorry wrong guy.
I would actually characterize that as the start of the decline, though there have been some gems in between.

I agree, it makes no difference. Beyond that what does being upset about it do for anyone? This is the sort of small stuff that people need to stop worrying about.

I don't think anyone in this thread is upset about it.

They did pre-record it, but the military personnel on the field said they could hear her actually singing it, but it wasn't on a live microphone.
