Biadasz expected to sign with Washington

The issues isn't that Biadasz isn't replaceable, he's very mid as far as NFL Centers go. The issue is the number of openings the Cowboys have on the roster. Building through the draft is a good thing, but you can't completely ignore free agency altogether and expect to compete year after year.

It's starting to feel like the Cowboys will be all in....on 2025. Still time for them to make me look stupid, but as of March 11th it feels more and more like this team has punted on 2024

10 million per yr is rich for a ok starter. Team can easily upgrade thru the draft with a great Center class

That’s the issue. None of these guys TP, Armstrong, Biadasz were good enough to warrant the $$$ they would receive in FA. But at the same time we don’t have guys who can step up and fill those spots and limited draft picks. Not to mention, we rarely find 2 quality starters in a single draft, especially when drafting in the 20s.

So now we need a starting C, OL, RB and LB. Plus a DT, DE, #2 or 3 WR and CB.

We will be lucky to find 2 starters, let alone immediate starters, in the draft. So that would leave at least 2 starters needing to come from mid-low end FA signings. And that still leaves 3-4 other needs. Maybe we will have a bumper UDFA haul this year lol.

Bingo. The draft is great, but it blows my mind how high the expectations are for the draft. 2 starter level players from a draft class is an excellent draft class for the vast majority of years. Seems like people think any 4th round OL is going to be able to be a plug and play because the class is considered deep. Once you get past the first round if you're drafting for anything other than depth and development you're in trouble.

How many starters from the draft last year. Please leave out Mazi.
