Yes, teams are stupid to not consider someone who’s been nothing more than a figurehead position holder!
Do you dispute that teams are stupid? Have you seen the hires? Did you see what happened in Denver last year?

Bieniemy has been more than a Figurehead...sure doesn't call plays but he wouldn't be the first OC to not call plays and get a job. Reid credited him with the TDs in the superbowl that were cakewalks.

To think that all of these do nothings have been hired and handed HC positions and a guy who works for the best coach in the league as his right hand man....can't get anything but a parallel position is ridiculous.

Both Eagles coordinators just got HC jobs including the DC Bieniemy pants several times in the Super Bowl.
If Mahomes doesnt have that one long run the Eagles win that game. Bienemy gets credit for Mahomes greatness. Nobody claimed Hurts was an all time great QB... thats why his coordinator got a job. IN the end, it doesnt really matter. ALL of these guys are good, all of them know their stuff, but that doesnt mean all of them are the right fit to be a head coach.

There isnt a single nfl head coach that doesnt know football. Some are just blessed to walk into a great QB. Mike Tomlin anyone??????

Nathaniel WACKett got a HC gig and didnt call the plays as OC under LaFleur.

Bad take
bad take says you..... Have you ever heard Beienemy interview? I ahvent, maybe he sucks at an interview. BUT, in the end, he does need to prove he can do more than watch the great patrick mahomes carry that entire franchise like he has done since he arrived. The guy is simply great.... 5 straight AFC title games, 3 SB appearances, 2 rings..... yea, go show me Eric.. show me you can do anything without Patrick driving the truck.

best coach in the league.....bahahahahahah. the guy coached for 20 seasons and had ZERO super bowl wins... you know, the number of non SB seasons jerry had at one point and was getting crushed for, and one Patrick Mahomes shows up and giftwraps Andy 2 big fat rings, and now Andy is great like Billy Boy. smh

“Sucks at interviewing” LOL

Once again, what has someone like Nathaniel Hackett proved that made him more deserving of a hc gig than Bieniemy

Oh ok...so getting to the Super Bowl with two different teams is nothing now? I see.

Guy has been in 4 super bowls....7 or 8 CC games. Won 247 games in the league.

Also, how many games has Bill Bellichek won without Tom Brady again?

There were takes out there about how Bieniemy should have to prove that he can be successful and run a great offense without Andy Reid and Mahomes. Yet somehow this same reasoning doesn't apply to the Eagles coorinadators, as no one is saying that they should have to prove themselves as coorinadators on NFL teams who are as bad as the Commanders are or at the least aren't saying they should have to prove themselves as offensive and defensive coordinators of teams who aren't close to being as stacked and loaded as the Eagles are on both sides of the ball. They just for given head coaching jobs.

I hope EB declines & stay put in K.C. I don't want Washington potentially upgrading in either the coaching or QB department.

LeSean McCoy has stated several times that any team that would hire EB as a head coach would be making the worst mistake ever. Obviously some bad blood there.

You can know football and be a bad coach.

Happens all the time. Not everyone can effectively communicate, time manage, lead other coaches and players. Football knowledge is maybe half of it.

You put waaaay to much emphasis on Mahomes. Sure he is the best in the league but he needed every bit of the coaching game plan he got this year from Eric and Andy. I would estimate 80% of the Tds he threw this year were gimmies...that were all scheme. That is a lot of gimmie tds.

To put Steichen in the same convo where he had a STACKED offense...is just ridiculous.

There's probably a reason he hasn't gotten a head coaching gig yet.
His past. He wasn’t the greatest guy in college and after college.

I think a lot of teams don’t feel like having that dug up.

Everybody has a past and done stupid stuff. Just saying this is probably why

Half the guys who have been on bill bellicheck staffs got a shot though bill controls everything on his teams
Every guys plays under someone while they learn. It’s a risk giving a new guy a shot at a HC but it’s paid off about as well as hiring a guy who’s coached before

Agreed.

Not really seeing this move short term. Going from Mahomes to Howell? Washington has a few good receivers, good running backs and average OL.

Kind of seems like a hand shake agreement to be the next head coach.
Yeah, Bienemy is going into a really bad situation, and on a frickin' lateral move. Doesn't appear to be a good move to me by Bienemy.

Huh?

If Mahomes doesn't have that run, they still could easily have driven down the field and ate the clock before a game winning field goal.
