Reid is really counting on his defense (and McNabb) to have a resurgent season. He's not planning to change anything.

And that's where he believes that McNabb and average weapons around him can win a championship.

This is not Joe Montana throwing to Freddie Solomon and Dwight Clark while handing off to Bill Ring and Earl Cooper. This is a much less accurate and clutch quarterback at work.

Instead of running from the terror that was Owens, they should have realized how much McNabb needs an upper echelon WR (or even RB) around him to realize his potential. They can beat the mediocre and bad teams with their approach of McNabb and average talent. But year after year, eventually McNabb's challenges always bubble to the surface and are exposed against quality competition.

They are doing it backwards. Instead of taking the learning experience from all the years of falling a dollar short each season, they forgot exactly why they got Owens in the first place, and that was to give him a weapon. Instead, they have retreated into a shell and hope a fragile McNabb can pull them out. It will fail miserably.

What's up with you Vintage ...I'm impressed that you've not only made perfect sense, but it was logical too!;) Just kidding, the unflammable dialogue is refreshing from you.

Well, how many times have players turned out to be more than what was first predicted, researched and informed through scouts, managers, etc.?
Listen, with the right OL (and the Eagles have a huge, young OL), there are several ordinary RBs that could be considered extraordinary.

We'll see what happens ...you and the other posters could be right about this; but that's not going to damper my excitement about being hopeful and Positive toward what the Eagles Management envisions.

Look, granted ...like you say " most GMs already think he's isn't much of a RB." However, Eagles management may have seen something that they may have missed.

It's a good thing the Eagles have fans like you.

Who blindly follow everything they do or say without question.

Simply hand over their money for tickets and merchandise while their team sits on $15 million in cap space.

Me, on the other hand, I question when I think my team and owner aren't doing evrything they can to win.

How did you feel about Freddie Mitchell trying out for your team?

the Point is that the mere fact that we've signed this guy is an indicator that we intend to beat teams on the ground, in the air, and through our defense.

This signing isn't an indicator of anything. They need a body.

I am sure they realize they have to run better and more often to win, but signing this player wasn't the signal of their commitment. It should already be there.

Don't have this post come back to haunt you later.

We signed a QB named Jason Baker the other day. He is a big strong armed player who can throw the deep ball. That is an indication that we are looking to throw the ball deep more because we signed him.

See how illogical that sounds? That is exactly what you are doing here.

How did you feel knowing you wasted a first round choice on him after the Eagles cut him?

Kind of embarrassed actually.

But I took comfort in the fact that the guy wasn't good enough to even be signed during training camp.

How'd it feel that he was a former #1 pick?

Big Back 6 foot 225, and look at those hands.

What hands?? In this pic it looks like he's using the shoulder pads to catch the pass

I hate to admit it, but against the Raiders the Eagles looked pretty damn good with their first teamers.

They spanked the Raiders on both sides of the field, it was clear it would have been most likely a very big win if it had been a regular season game.

They aren't gonna be an easy out this year, that's for sure. In fact, based on the fact they almost beat the Giants twice last year with McMahon at QB, I have a hunch they sweep the Giants this year.

it just looks like to me that you needed to find another RB to replace the depth you lost when Bruce Perry was done for the year

Is Perry done for the year, PT? Feel bad for the kid. He's just had a hard time staying healthy since his Sr year at Maryland. I think this is his 2nd season ending injury in his 3 years in the league.

Once again a NON-COWBOYS thread started by a non-Cowboys fan.
:puke:

Doesnt this go in NFL zone or greenmold zone or something?
:bang2:

Eagles + TO + McNabb = :trophy:

Cowboys + TO + Bledsoe = :lombardi: +1

Beating the Raiders = ? exactly? They have blown for years now... and NOW they have Aaron Brooks.... oh yeah, real contender...
