Beating the Raiders = ? exactly? They have blown for years now... and NOW they have Aaron Brooks.... oh yeah, real contender...

I can't bash the Raiders too much. I think they had alot of talent that was misused in recent years...we'll see if Art Shell makes a difference.

I also can't talk because the Raiders beat the Skins in what was the nadir of last season for us.

And closing his eyes and praying.

I thought Ryan Moats was the Eagles big back? No?

I thought Buckhalter was...this move is a clear sign the Eagles think his knees are likely shot.

Is Perry done for the year, PT? Feel bad for the kid. He's just had a hard time staying healthy since his Sr year at Maryland. I think this is his 2nd season ending injury in his 3 years in the league.

I thought he just had a concussion?

I also think Shell will help, but their lines are both in bad shape, particularly their defensive line. Shell, Eatman and Slater will get their O-line in shape, but it will take time.

Philly makes a couple of camp depth signings and we're hearing about it. Oh Joy.

Sounds less useful than us working out FredEx.

This is a really great move by Philly.

You can never have enough running backs that you aren't going to hand the ball to.

That organization is on top of things.

I disagree Alexander. I think Reid believes that Westbrook and Brown are more than just average weapons. Right or wrong, the Eagles view Reggie Brown as a legit #1 wide reciever. Right or wrong... that's what we'll find out this season.

I laughed.

OK, so for some reason I feel like responding to this topic.

I don't think Ryan Moats or Buckhalter are the Eagles answer to the "Big Back" question. I think their answer is Thomas Tapeh. Like anything else... we'll see.

I agree about that. I am not impressed by Brown and never have been. He has the look of a very strong #2, but if he ever becomes a strong #1, I would be completely impressed.

The fullback from Minnesota?

That's like us saying Lousaka Polite is our big back "answer".

Well, that is a start. Now to concentrate on a running back in the draft, or FA pool during the off-season, rather than wait for the training camp cuts.

Westbrook presents alot of different problems for defenses thats for sure.

Perhaps, I don't know enough about Polite to say if they're equivalent. But assuming they are, it speaks volumes about how much Reid values a "big back"... not much. Here is why I think Tapeh is the attempted answer:
- timing of his draft. He was drafted the year Staley left.
- similar, in many regards, to Staley. Staley was a fullback in college as well.
- how he's been used so far. His rookie year, Tapeh was given chances to carry the ball. The Eagles don't give carries to their fullbacks, which tells me Tapeh is intended to be used as a tailback. This year, the coaches are saying they intend the fullback to carry the ball more, which tells me that Tapeh will probably win the job. I think he'll be a fullback in name only, and will mostly be used in one-back sets - similar to how he was used at Minnesota.

some of you probably could care less about my opinion, but you're gonna get it hee hee

MJ did a good job when he was here with the Utes and flashed talent occasionally.

Then again, I threw up 34 points in a high school game and led my team to a win. That doesn't mean I should be playing with Team USA.

If he doesn't get cut, consider it a victory.
