1. Caleb Downs - S
2. David Bailey - Edge
3. Arvell Reese - LBr / Edge
4. Jermod McCoy - CB

Had a hard time putting Downs over Bailey but I think he so much than just a Safety and would bring so much value to our defense. The asterisk on McCoy is he has to participate at the combine and look like the stud from 24.

Honorable mention are Delane (concerned about size and speed) and Styles (slides due to positional value and dont see much drop off to Hill if you want to target both at 20).

It is a short list but I want one of the best defenders in the class at 12 and I think we will have a good chance at 1 of these players being there. The rest of the players being talked about at 12 have too many warts / concerns for me.

For sure. Downs runs a 4.6 and we’re like ehhhh maybe get him in the 2nd
People said the same thing about Kyle Hamilton. He might be too slow to be a legit elite prospect. All Hamilton done has become a three time All Pro player in 4 years and arguably the most dynamic defender in the NFL (in terms of position flexibility)

Downs is a legit Top 12 player, granted he's not going to be a guy like Hamilton that you can play at a variety of positions.

McCoy might be the only one on that list that falls to 12. I'd run to the podium for the Top 3.

I suspect Dallas' big board is different. Don't be surprised if they have Love high on their board. Dallas has never been one to shy away from taking an premier offensive playmaker. Many of the analysts have Love as a legit Top 5 prospect, so if he fell to 12, Jerry and Stephen might be hard pressed to pass on a Top 5 talent.

I wouldn't make that pick myself, largely because I assume we'll do jack squat in FA to make the defense better. So we need to use those picks on defenders.

Love likely won't get past the Chiefs anyway.

Shootouts equals ratings

I think they need a cb1 but I don’t see how you take the injured one when your 2 and 3 are also injured

we already took a guy with ACL tear and he was a complete non factor for the year,I don't think we will compound that by taking one at no 12 in the 1st rd.

Like the effort…UNFORTUNATELY, I really don’t see the Top 3 making it to 12.
Just like Lamb would never make it. Then we had the Raiders and the Broncos and others help us.

Is Bain not on this list because he won’t be there?…Or are you saying you wouldn’t take him at 12?
I would not take him at 12. Too much risk at 12 as there has not been a pro bowl or 10+ sack player since 99 that had sub 31 inch arms. If those reports are not accurate I will change my tune.

I would consider him at 20 but would need to know who else is available.

I have him as more of a late 1st.

I think his bod type will work on the next level as he plays so low to the ground where Tackles just cannot get that low.

I just have a really hard time getting on board with drafting a massive outlier at 12.

He might be best suited at 3T.

His production on the college level is elite, especially against top competition. Both good against the run as he is against the pass and has a non-stop motor. He reminds me of Hassan Reddick who also is on the smaller size and doesn't have great arm length either. Reddick outside of the last two seasons, has been a very good player in this league, believe he had a 15+ sack season with the Eagles a few years ago.

In regards to Bain - his production profile is also not very strong for a top 10/15 players. A lot of pressures and a good PRWR but the sack / TFL #s aren't at the high end level I look for for taking an Edge early.

Elite? How...He has averaged less than 1 sack / TFL per game. The threshold for 1st round Edges is usually around 1.2 with the uber elites being above 1.5.

Reddick was an undersized speed rusher as a prospect that is way off IMO. Closest I have seen is Melvin Ingram and Kalijah Cancey.
