Big game, but not a "must win"

Don't get me wrong...this game is very important, but if the Cowboys lose they will have the same record as the Giants. The Giants will have the tie-breakers but still must match Dallas win for win for the remainder of the season. Living in NJ, no fan wants to see us win tomorrow more than me but I believe that we can still finish 11-5 and they can certainly finish 10-6 and we'll win the division. Giants Stadium is a tough place to play against a desperate Giants team. I think it will be a tough one to the end tomorrow. I hope I'm wrong and we blow them out! Oh, one more thing. Didn't we get swept by the Skins in '95 and still won the SB? I'm psyched for a big win tomorrow, but all is not lost if we blow it. Go Cowboys!

it doesnt mean the season is over, but if we cant go win this game I'm pretty sure we're not doing anything the rest of the yr or in the playoffs if we make it...

eventually you have to beat good teams on the road if you are a good team yourself...the Giants have alot of injuries and arnt playing well...this is a game that if we are a good team, we should win

to me, a loss means we are the same team we've been for years here...mediocre

This is the kind of game that championship-caliber teams win.

my thoughts exactly. Sorry, but no matter what you say to take the stress off, this is a must win. especially if we want to do anything in the playoffs.

I think a loss hurts the Giants a lot more than it does the Cowboys, not just because the Giants are 6-5 right now, but because Dallas seems to bouce back from a loss very well. That's about the only thing that worries me about this game.

At some point though you have to stop bouncing back, and put together a string of wins, especially when they count.

This is one of the biggest regular season games for the 'Boys in recent memory... a win can catapult us to #2 in the NFC and all but wrap up the division title for us. A loss, and we're simply a wildcard contendor, essentially a game behind the division leader who swept us.

HUGE game. We'll be ready.

I trhink the year we won the SB in 1995, didn't we spank NY like 35-0 on MNF to open the season?

We haven't won a division game on the road this season. This game DOES have big implications on whether we have any post season aspirations.

I'd say the biggest since oddly enough, the 93/94 Emmitt separated shoulder game against you know who.

Our NFC East record is currently a lousy 1-3; we are the only contending team who've lost more division games then we've won. If we lose to the Giants tomorrow, we will be 1-4 within our division. That means any other contender with same won/lost as we have but probably a better division record will make it ahead of us. Don't think we want to take that chance of not making it to the playoffs again.

Besides this team has been inconsistent for last 2 years and it's time to really show if we are a mediocre team or a legit playoff contender. Sure going to the Meadowlands in Dec to play a cornered playoff contender will probably be tough, but tough teams do it. I'm not saying we legit SB contender (I still think our OL isn't good enough & secondary seems be vulnerable at times) but we should be able to beat a team who still playing w/o all their starters & I don't value their QB either.

This team has taken some steps in last 5 games that we've all hoped for. Now it is time to take another step. The NFC East is wide open and ours for the taking. But it's not going to be easy, but then winning usually isn't easy. It's a lot easier to lose the games and then the team has no pressure on yet. Winning teams show they can win those pressure games. This is the best shot we've had in years to finally reestablish the Cowboys as a legit SB contender.

I agree that it isnt a Must Win but if we dont win then it pretty much kills all the momentum we have had since Romo became the starter and it will show that the Cowboys arent good enough to do anything serious in the playoffs if they make it

I'm not too much worried about it from a "proving" something strandpoint.

Every week theres teams trying to prove one thing or another. We could have a good game but fumble a kick off and a punt return and end up losing.

I just think it's big for the sake of positioning. If we'd already beat the Giants once it wouldnt be so bad if we lost because it would make us more or less dead even. As it stands though it's almost like a 3 game swing depending on what happens. Either in 1st by 2 games and in control or in 2nd place.

Actually yes it is. To take the next step, our team has to be able to win on the road especially against division teams especially in December.
