I think Lurie did a good job with this mess. Chip gets full control of the roster. Roseman will not be held accountable for Kelly's decisions but will be in a position to remove him and his staff if it does not workout.

So if this was a power struggle with a winner and a loser, Kelly would have to be viewed as the winner. But that’s contingent on Kelly’s team winning on the field. If the Eagles falter with Kelly calling the shots, Executive V.P. Roseman will be helping Lurie find a new coach.

Chip's pretty much had personnel say the last two years.

And what a fine job he's done with it drafting players he's supposed to know well just coming out of college.

This guy's ego is what will doom his NFL career.

The great part of this, if true, is that it would mean Roseman stays. For him to be 'infuriated' about Kelly giving him a compliment about his salary cap expertise and to construe that as a slight against him is just the type of egotistical, lunatic that looks for yes-men head coaches that can make Philly an afterthought each year.

Hey Howie....I heard Kelly slept with your wife, too!

LOL, That last line made me think of paul newman in slapshot when he taunted the goalie - "your wifes a lesbian, I Know I know, she told me"

Told you guys Chip Kelly was history after the complete collapse and disintegration of the play of the Eagles between the 1st and 2nd Dallas games, to book it. This was weeks ago and nobody believed me. The Eagles are a sinking ship, and Kelly is being shown the plank first.

Laurie has placed Chippy into the "all your fault, not mine" seat.

So now when the Iggles stink next year, the fans will be calling for his head, just like Reid's.

Well played Lurie, well played.

I still don't believe you. Given that they just gave him a promotion it looks like he gets at least one more season, which is one more than you predicted.

Good.

I can't stand him.

I'll love it when he tucks tail and goes back to college.

He needs to get in line after every other Philadelphia resident.

I know he coaches Philly, but outside of that I don't understand the hatred for Kelly. He's about as humble and soft spoken as it gets. Vastly different from somebody like Belichick who would go to reporters and anybody that would listen of how much of a football genius he is. Kelly goes out of his way to tell reporters that he is *not* a football genius and everything he does is nothing new. What's odd is that despite going out of his to tell the media this, the media keeps pumping up the 'genius' machine.

I do get a kick out of ESPN absolutely rushing in to make sure that the world knows that there's not a rift between Roseman and Kelly. If somebody had posted a story about a rift in Dallas between Garrett and the equipment manager, ESPN would be there to throw more gasoline on the fire.

By next season, he will have 22 ex-Oregon players on the team.

Pathetic
Well, having the soon-to-be ex-Oregon QB Marcus Mariota would certainly be an upgrade.... but no way he's available to Philly...

They will make the playoffs next year, especially after the owners approve 2 more playoff teams (1 per conference ) for the 2015 season.

I have now corrected the copy for the writer, and turned it into a piece more suited for publication.

However, 2014 was not so kind to Kelly and the Eagles. During the last half of the season it appeared as if they were poised to repeat as division champions. Yet they had some missteps down the stretch, and that honor ultimately went to the rival Dallas Cowboys, who took care of the Eagles in their second meeting, by beating the snot out of the Eagles and rubbing that scab franchise's nose in the dog poo in national TV.

I'm an editor and your revision drove me crazy. :D Because I have nothing better to do at the moment, here's the copy I'd turn in:

The honor ultimately went to the rival Dallas Cowboys who easily defeated the Eagles in their second meeting before a national audience, rubbing the nose of their longtime foes' in dog poo.

Just saying! Though I'd never dare cut any part of an article that likens the Eagles to dog poo! ;)
