Their place is right above you in the standings, that is where Baylor will be so quit griping, for a non-rival you sure are getting wound up.

Student. I'm a sports writer for the Lariat.
Good for you, I'm not far removed from my Baylor days, about 6 months actually. That was a paper that needed some better writers, i hope you provide.

I'll be there.

Shortly after I'll be leaving with no voice while celebrating a victory over the aggies.

Btw, I'd be willing to wager on the game. This is Baylor's game to lose, and they will not lose.

Don't worry Baylor fans ... if you don't get them this weekend, we (Nebraska) will in two weeks. Maybe that will give you some joy then. :D

Actually, and I know HH won't like hearing this, but I like our matchup with A&M better than anyone else on our schdule.

While they have a 3 headed monster at RB with Lane, Goodson and even Lewis, Nebraska has one of the stoutest run defenses in the country ... especially over the last few games. Since Ndamukong Suh was inserted in the middle of the defense at DT, Nebraska's run defense has picked up considerably. As a freshman, he's leading Nebraska in sacks and I believe he still leads in TFL. Complete beast to only be a freshman.

I can almost bet HH will think ... Kansas ripped you all apart, we will too. Thing is, we played with 4 LB's, one of whom (Lance Bradenburgh) was the backup to all 3 LB positions. We had 4 backups injured for that game, and for whatever reason we didn't trust our freshmen enough to play a nickel or dime coverage any that day. Not once did we go into any of those packages. That whole game we stayed in a base 4-3 and mostly played cover 2 and cover 3 with our LB's trying to cover WR's. Kansas didn't even try to throw down the field either, they just kept picking away ... picking away with those underneath patterns. Since that game, we've played alot of nickel and dime and our defense has been completely different.

In any case, I hope Baylor certainly does pound away at A&M this weekend. Is the game on FSN or anywhere?

I don't think we'll beat Nebraska. I think we'll beat Baylor and Oklahoma and lose to Nebraska and tu and finish 9-3 and probably go to the Holiday Bowl.

I do think we'll give Nebraska just as tough a game as KU or tu did, though, especially with the game at Kyle.

Pick on our CB's, and you'll definetely stay in the game throughout, if not win it. Especially pick on Andre Jones. As much as that guy likes to talk, he's been pretty much awful. Grixby is 5'9 (probably smaller) but his switch just comes on every now and again. Last year at Baylor he played a great game, and this year against Texas he played a great game. He took away the fade pattern to Limas Sweed a couple of times in the end zone.

The problem with play Nebraska is that they're defense is just good enough to really stuff our run game and force McGee to pass. Now, McGee looked really good when forced to throw against Kansas and Okie Lite during late game drives (And against Louisiana Tech, but that doesnt really count). However, he looked average against a so-so Texas Tech defense. He is very accurate, but stares down his receivers and isnt a very good improviser as far as passing goes when his first and second option arent there (He's excellant at escaping the pocket and running, though).

Then why the hell do you have a sig that crowns A&M as the Big XII champs if they will not even come close to the champ game in KC this year?

Oh, you better hope that Fran starts to learn how to recruit the state because the latest commits to the South are a riot when you compare Texas to aggie. Fran has been thrown under the bus in the past for recruiting players he has no shot at (2004-5) and ignoring the 3 and 4 star players that he could have gotten....

McGee will have his opportunities as lately we seem to sell out on the blitz alot more. Andrew Shanle (yes, Scott's little brother) is being utilized more were he is effective. Coming off the blitz and playing closer to the line, rather than in coverage.

If you watched the 2nd half of the Texas game, Shanle was coming off the edge on most plays. I was actually surprised with how well or CB's held up in man coverage with Sweed and Cosby. I was also surprised with how they played those bubble screens Texas ran all day. USC ran those plays all day against us and racked up most of their yardage with that simple play.

Also, you'll hardly even see our CB's press. We almost always play 7-10 yards off. When Zack Bowman went down with an ACL injury, it really killed our CB's for the year. Our nickel corner is actually Tierre Green, who comes up from his safety position to play, since our CB's are so severely depleted.

One player to watch our for -- Steve Octavien. He transferred from JUCO last year and started the Maine game before breaking his leg on a punt return to begin the 2nd quarter. In that 1st quarter, he had 4-5 tackles and was seemingly all over the field. Alot of 'Husker fans hyped him up until the point he was talking about how he would declare for the draft after this year. He got fat and lazy and ultimately got his Blackshirt taken away after being demoted to 2nd string. Grade problems came and he didn't play after the USC game. He came back against Texas, playing backup SAM and had 10 tackles and 2 FF's. His sideline-to-sideline pursuit was astonishing. Haven't really had speed like that at LB since the days of Terrell Farley. Really, I think he changes our defense and helped spark a great defensive effort like we all saw against Texas.

Hoping against hope, maybe? ;)

BTW, Fran's 4 recruiting classes have averaged #13 in the nation

That's encouraging, as 75% of A&M's passes revolve around 5-10 yard slant routes that let the receiver make plays and are deisnged to beat sagging coverage.

change baylor to A&M and A&M to THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT AUSTIN, OFFICIAL FLAGSHIP UNIVERSITY OF THE GREAT STATE OF TEXAS!!!, and that is just as accurate, you accusing baylor of having ***** envy is like the slug calling the turtle slow, other than that, i think A&M will beat OU and Nebraska and will have an identical record with us coming into the game. im hoping yall are ranked in the top 15 maybe even higher, after beating OU and NU. That way, after we completely rape them, we look good!!! hehehehe

What are your's?

1: Texas
2: Nebraska
3: Texas A&M
4: Missouri
5: Oklahoma (Without AD, they just don't have much on offense)
6: Oklahoma State
7: Texas Tech
8: Baylor
9: Kansas State
10: Kansas
11: Iowa State
12: Colorado

Might want to rethink the "don't have much on offense". I'd say they ran the ball pretty good on Missouri and Colorado without AD. It should be a good game this weekend.
