Bigg vs Suh

BIGG's biggest problem has been he is slow off the snap. Defensive players that are quick off the snap and shoot the gap give him the biggest problem.

BIGG's strongest asset is his sheer size and power. The only way I could see Suh having a successful bull rush against BIGG is if he makes contact with BIGG before BIGG sets his feet on a pass rush. Other than that, I don't think Suh can successfully bull rush BIGG. (baring lazy play by BIGG) Suh would probably have to use his speed and quickness and go around him.

Suh biggest asset is his strength and quickness. Suh is very similar to Ratliff in playing style, though I think Suh can be better than Ratliff with time.

If the Cowboys can pass protect like they did against the Giants, the Cowboys shouldn't have to many problems moving the ball against the Lions. With Stafford out of the lineup and the Cowboys are able to maintain pass protection, the Cowboys *should* win this game without to much drama. (thats a big IF though considering we are talking about the the 2010 Cowboys)

I think Dallas can contain Suh if the front 5 work together as a unit. I'm not as concerned about individual matchups as I am guys knowing who to pick up as defenders are stunting. If guys work together they can slow down Suh and the rest of the Det front.

.....not statistically but realistically. I live in Michigan and Tom Kowalski, the Lions beat writer is a VERY shrewd dude and raves about Williams. He gets alot of double teams which has left Suh to go one on one. Sun will be a super star, but as of this year Williams has player better per Kowalski AND other Lions insiders. Suh is the closest thing to Randy White I've seen since he retired. Ferocious, intimidating, nasty, brutal force. Love me some Suh. However, the good news is Williams didn't practice today: seems he's nicked up.

PS: Vandenbosch is real stout too: wish we had all three of these guys. Their interior is SOLID.

I have actually watched several Lions game this season and they are an improved team, the record does not show it but they have made improvement from where they have been. I agree they have a good front on defense they rank fairly high in sacks this season. I still think the key to any offensive line is how they work together as a unit more so than just looking at 1 on 1 matchups

Suh is exactly the kind of player that gives us trouble. To be honest, I think Colombo should probably worry more about Suh then Bigg. If I were the Lions, I'd run Suh and Avril on stunts all day. You put Suh on the move against Colombo and I think he will either beat him to the spot or club him to death once Colombo gets his feet moving. JMO

.....especially about Colombo: that's just SCARY thinking about him tryin to block Suh:eek: However, Avril didn't practice today either and is doubtful for the game on Sunday: good news as he's pretty solid IMHO.

I would be willing to bet money that Suh gives Bigg trouble, but I don't know how much impact it will have on the game/score if the Cowboys can account for him.

I think Bigg can handle Suh and anyone in the league if he gets his hands on him. Suh is way too athletic though and agile for a guy his size, he won't be able to keep up with him all day.

That's the key - IF he gets his hands on him. More accurately IF he gets his hands on him with his body positioned in front of the path the defender wants to take. Problem is that many D-linemen are much quicker off the ball than Davis, and he never gets the chance to get solidly positioned in front of them.
