Biggest Concern Going into 2026

Why would you be concerned? Lol. Are you concerned that we may finally have an adequate D?

I know you didn’t say YOU were concerned! But maybe you should be.
No, I'm not, but for someone to express an opinion on the state of the team, on a forum intended specifically for that purpose, only to have someone basically tell them they shouldn't be expressing their opinion because it's "too early" makes me feel like that person needs to be told why the opinion was expressed.

Was it too early to be concerned last preseason?

The one before that?

Touché but I wasn’t arguing that. Of course we can have opinions about the future. The prognostications I don’t like are the ones presented as fact and the future a done deal.

At least took ypu to task. Ridiculous

OL ranked 27th in pass protection. Fact. Same OTs. Fact. Upgrade potential-Drew Shelton. Shuffling potential Tyler Smith. It’s the biggest concern on the team and well grounded.

What the heck are you talking about? Since when do Tyler Smith and the OTs play on defense? Defense was what I was referring to him being concerned about. And even if I was referring to the OL, wth heck do you care. I wasn’t responding to you. Why get your panties in a bunch? I think the OL can possibly be a concern as well. Did you take your meds today? Besides, I was joking with him since he’s not a cowboys fan. Maybe you didn’t know that? Maybe shut your trap before you say something stupid next time

We have the worst cb's in the NFL....I dont care how many picks Bland has...can he cover? Not even average

My greatest concern is the annual series of devastating injuries that wipe out entire squads that were thought to be the Cowboys areas of strength.

Last season it was the CBs which were supposed to have been manned by two 1st team All-Pros. In fact, the top 5 CBs on the roster had injuries.

There was a different starting CB in each of the Cowboys 1st four games and even they were getting injured.

To make things even worse, they received no help from the pass rush having lost both their starting EDGEs from the previous season. Adding insult to injury, both of them made the Pro Bowl for their respective new teams.

Extensive injuries will devastate a team with high paid starters and practice squad level backups.

Offensive Tackle

The hiring of CP and the defensive draft are phenomenal moves that show a difference in the way things are being done. Confident that this is a playoff team.

The biggest concern is (and it’s ugly head pooped up last season in games with playoff fronts) the offensive tackle positions. Both. I have little confidence in Steele and Guyton especially in potential playoff scenarios against the Seahawks Lions or Rams..

Will they move Tyler Smith to LT again? Guyton to RT?
Drew Shelton?

You can’t get everything in one offseason.
I agree, but it looks like they will have to get by with what they have now.
They may pick up someone else between now and camp, or after the cutdowns, but it will still be a weak spot.

Also the penaltys, esp the presnap ones need to be better this season.
TE was also below avg last season.
Shotty was ok calling plays, but got away from running, for various reasons, but they need to stick with the run more.
Lamb need to be better and hopefully pickens will do better and be there.

The cowboys were shut down on offense in several games in 2nd half and that cant happen this season.
The offense needs to be better and more consistent.

I think shotty should maybe let clayton call the plays , so he can concentrate on game mgmt.
I am not a fan of the HC calling plays, as they miss what is going on elsewhere, they are too focused on what play to call next.

Can we play double TE with Pickens and Lamb?

Have both TE's chip or stay in to block?

Could Trigg be a wild card tweener?

Oh I'm not trying to argue with you, just stating my POV. It's all good, brother.

For me it is OT and CB, though I am hopeful that some of the additions to CB will help there.

I'm still very concerned about OT .. I really wish they would commit to putting Tyler Smith there.

I don't know if he doesn't want to do it or if what he said last year is true. That he doesn't want to train during the off-season and pre-season to play guard only to be switched to tackle or if it's a money thing with him in that he would want more money to play that position.

Either way, I think it's much easier to find a solid (doesn't even have to be great) guard than it is a left tackle and Tyler can definitely handle LT.
No, it's that he doesn't have the physical skillset to play there at a high level.

I have no concern going into game one because we're 4 1/2 months from game one so if anyone's concerned they might want to save their energy until they see what the roster actually looks like right before game one not 4 1/2 months prior I mean there is no concerns because they have not set the depth chart we have not finished team building..
For Gawd's sake, then why are you here commenting? It's obvious that is exactly what people are going to be discussing, so are you here just to make silly proclamation about how we are not allowed to comment?

The fact that they're comfortable rolling the dice again going with Steele is perplexing to me. I feel like it's a miracle Dak played all 17 games last season. Steele is a turnstile—not always, but often enough to be a serious liability.

Biggest concern this year is the regression of the offense. I do think this year you will see more offensive struggles and falling out of the top 10. I can't point to any one thing but It's happening and it's going to shock all the fans as they're going to expect the defense to struggle, but it's going to be the offense instead.

Who’s going to be the defensive field general, call the PLAYS

I think they actually got better,

How so? It looks like every starter on offense from last year is still the starter this year.
We drafted an offensive tackle, and two undrafted tight ends. Re-signed Pickens he’s happy and the running back room is going to get better.
Not to mention wide receiver, three is looking really good

Dak Prescott was ranked roughly 16th in most times sacked among NFL quarterbacks in 2025.
