Biggest Concern Going into 2026

We drafted an offensive tackle, and two undrafted tight ends. Re-signed Pickens he’s happy and the running back room is going to get better.
Not to mention wide receiver, three is looking really good
I doubt the rookies will be able to have an impact this year. The RB room hasn’t changed but we can hope the backups can step up. I see the same as last year. IMO the only X factor is going to be coaching. It seemed towards the end of the season that teams were catching on to our scheme. Can BS adapt and continue to be innovative? We’ll see.

Dak Prescott was ranked roughly 16th in most times sacked among NFL quarterbacks in 2025.
That ranking is due more to Dak being able to avoid the sack and getting rid of the ball.

I think the sacks were pretty much 50-50 as regards O line and Dak

but then play calling did not help'
way too many slow developing plays

Biggest concern this year is the regression of the offense. I do think this year you will see more offensive struggles and falling out of the top 10. I can't point to any one thing but It's happening and it's going to shock all the fans as they're going to expect the defense to struggle, but it's going to be the offense instead.
I don’t disagree that ‘25 stats may be difficult to match, especially if the defense is better. But I am hopeful for improvement at WR3.

Tolbert and Turpin were #3/4 on the depth chart for the 1st half and neither were good. Florunoy was only able to show something because of the Turp and Lamb injuries.

Hopefully Flournoy has a strong camp, develops a comfort level with Dak, and we get better production from WR3. Splitting snap counts between Turpin, Flournoy, and Mingo is a waste. In games where Flournoy got 50% of the snaps, he was really good.

I was okay with the play calling over all but you’re right, some of it contributed to our issues.

You hit the nail on the head. The stats don’t have to improve, and will most likely regress, if our D improves enough. The goal should be to be more efficient if that’s the case.

Connor Riley has to improve the OL to playing more on a consistent basis. Some of those penalties and pressure were drive killers last season, and went it rain, it poured on the field against good opponents. I am really looking at him to see if he's the right person for the job this year. He's not at Kansas State anymore, this is the big boy league.
Without a viable D offense had to do everything to win games, so obviously Dak was holding the ball long ( agreed , he doesnt throw it out or get it out quickly , but more than usual) which means OL was more suspect. If D plays like NFL average , then offense can live with a few punts and not to go for broke.

Biggest concern might be off the field. Not to beat a dead horse, but just the nature of these things is that there's going to remain plenty of chance that Dak's personal life becomes an issue now that he's decided not to marry baby mama. None of us really know his specifics, but most all of us understand how things can emotionally overwhelm at some of the worst possible moments in our lives for that to happen. I hate it all for me as a fan, but I hate it worse for Dak and the mother of his child.

Im factoring in a lot in my prediction that the offense will regress. One of those is that Dak has predictably had an injury every other year for the last 6 years? He was healthy all year last year..

2nd, Dak has played great the last 2 years in the regular season. 2024 he only played part of the year because of an injury but still played good before the injury. I don't trust him to keep it up.

3rd, despite having Pickens, they struggled between the 40 yard line and the end zone. Especially against tougher teams. Aubrey blurs those stats by scoring so much.

With the questionable O line issues and not having a really good tight end, I think Dak will have to get it out faster this year and he will have more Interceptions than he has in the last 2 seasons.

I think Dak will have a similar season to his 2022 season.

Concerns: CBs, LBs OT

CBs:
- I'm still gravely concern about heatlh-durability- performance of Bland (recurring foot) & Revel (ACL
recovery)
- wheres' the depth if starters are out ? rookie CB Devin Moore ? .. Cobie Durant ?.. John Butler ?

LBs: (off-ball)
Winters, Overshown, Robinson, James, Barham (rookie)

OTs:
Steele will be Steele. Average RT
Guyton will otninue to be Average OT
Where is depth at OT ? rookie Shleton ? Nat Thomas ? (ugh)

I would have loved to add a speedy RB for No.2, ..rather than rely on " dog-house" RB Jayden Blue.
but seems like Cowboys content with Malik Davis.Blue
Forget Hunter Lupkeke - they don't use/believe him to justify his stay on roster .

Smart. No one reads his claptrap and he doesn't care. One of those who talks because he loves to hear himself talk.
I don't like to publicly talk about people but the guy is definitely out there.

Pass rush and LB to me. I know ppl are hyped about Parker and I hope they are right, but man ppl drink Jerry Kook-Aid very easily. We had a dude named Kris Richard we had similar hype about. And in any case, talent is a thing, so while I think we did good to add Winters, Overshown health and performance after injury is a concern, being stout against the run is a concern, and then well consistent pressure on QB.

Hopefully we get outlandish rookie years
