Biggest indictment on Eberflus

darius leonard was just that good. Eberflus is a fraud
@ this point...I wouldn't be opposed to bringing Leonard in. Maybe at least he could teach everyone proper alignment and assignments. Sure looks like a lot of our problems are no one knows wth is going on.

Flus is supposed to be a LB “whisperer.” Instead of being a strength— it is the worst performing unit on the roster.

What does it say about your coaching chops when your “specialty” and “expertise” can’t help the players that are the most directly impacted by your scheme?
I am sorry, but you can take a pile of crap from the ground. put it on a nice plate (cowboys stadium), dress it up with some mashed potatos and parsley and call it a steak dinner, because once you cut into it, it still stinks and still pile of crap.

I am willing to give Eb benefit of the doubt at this time. a bunch of cast offs nobody wanted and literally pile of crap every where else and we expect a decent defense. there is no magic wand for these players and 10 out of 11 need to be shipped out. I would actually consider getting rid of almost everyone and bringing in street FA and PS players from other teams. they would play more hungry.

The players stink. No coach could do anything with them.
Totally agree! This group of outrageously moronic mouthbreathers on D cannot fathom anything more complex than the very simplest of concepts. Running any type of zone scheme, or really anything just slightly complicated, is deemed to fail because it's too difficult to grasp for these IQ 40-60 clowns. The coaches even went out and said they had to dumb down on the defensive concepts in order to get the players to understand and hopefully perform a little better. But they are too stupid.

It says any success EverFluffer ever had was an UberFluke.

Mostly, he's been a failure. See Chicago.

Sanborn was brought over from Chicago bc he supposedly “knew the system”

Murray is supposed to be an athletic freak who can’t read and react, but just “needed a change in scenery”

Liafu is a mystery because he flashed last season under Zimmer and was supposed to be the heir apparent to Kendricks— but he has been in the doghouse for some unknown reason

The bottom line is this: how could players that played LBer in college simply forget how to fill, shed, and tackle? They look like they never played the position before!

To me— they look like a bunch of guys making business decisions out there. Playing safe and scared and unwilling to sacrifice their body to make a play.

That is on coaching— Schotty included of course. Bench guys who freelance or don’t play to scheme. Play the guys who play the game the right way.

It’s just bizarre that a LB “guru” is on staff but the unit looks this atrocious. Inexcusable
Unless Eric Kendricks just decided he was done with football — and I still haven't seen anywhere that he's officially retired — he should've been retained. The fact that they are supposedly now interested in trading for a LB should've been addressed in the off-season. Did they really think Murray and Sanborn were going to be good enough?

He didn't buy the groceries he has to deal with either.

You have the luxury of making business decisions when your reputation will get you another contract.
These guys don’t have that reputation.
The reputation they’re building is as useless as dog ****!

Not sure I buy that he didn’t have any input. Sanborn was with him in Chicago— looks like he wanted him here to help implement the scheme

As far as the rest of the offseason— I agree with you. JJ sat on his hands and refused to deal with the Parsons situation which kept them from being able to add any quality FAs.

I will blame Eberflus for many things, but LB play isn't one.

Murray has always been the guy you see. He put up five years of tape like this - as a full time starter! - before he ever got to Dallas. Year 6 looks just like all the others. I truly do not know how an LB that bad continues to get that many snaps from 3 different teams, and my only guess is that it's his first round pedigree. If he was a 6th rounder playing like this, he'd be in the CFL by now.

Sanborn is just athletically limited, and having a terrible defense around him really exposes that.

Shemar James is a 5th round rookie, who weighed in in the 3rd percentile for LBs per Mockdraftable. Not gonna be your run defense savior, and that should have never been the expectation.

Liufau is the only one I am actually curious about, because he's had good moments and he's had bad moments, but he's just been doghoused for some absolute trash 'backers. He is the guy I would want to be giving reps to in a lost season.

Anyway, coaching can only go so far. I think that James is the only talent on the roster that's coachable, because he's a dude who just straight-up needs a year in the practice facility. He needs to put on weight, and he needs to see plays a beat faster, which are both common for a 21yo rookie. If he can react a little faster and hold up a little better, then I think he's got the movement and aggression to become a successful pursuit LB.

I don't know what Liufau's deal is (he needs coaching on tackling, that's for sure), and Sanborn and Murray just are what they are.

This is true. Same for Gilmore. As much hate as he gets around here, he's a smart player..

He'd be 100 times better than Elam.

Murray and Sanborn we're EverFluff guys.

You thought the 1 year $1.5M contract with $150,000 signing bonus and $150,000 guaranteed was going to be the next Shawn Lee.

This guy was not even supposed to make the team.

...since Eberjoke brought him over from CHi, I thought there was credibility in that . ..I guess not.

The state of this defense is partly because there is a lack of talent and partly because of poor coaching.
Everfus has lost his locker room these guys have no respect for him and are not playing for him.

They are playing for themselves and not to get hurt at this point.

We have a defense that looks like it's in career protection mode.

The state of Eberflus defense????
