Biggest let down so far?

I don't want to sound too negative here, because most know that I'm pretty positive about this team, especially this year, but there are some definitely disappointments.

I would say overall it is the inability of certain players to stay on the field, and it always seems to be the same cast of characters. Ratliff and Spencer especially.

But overall my biggest disappointment has to be Danny Coale. Even though I pegged him as the 6th receiver, I had high hopes for him. Really thought this guy would come in and make this camp his own. And yet he hasn't even been able to stay on the field. Haven't been impressed with him at all.

Biggest letdown for me is the safeties, particularly Barry Church. I drank too much of his kool aid but when I step back I realize he hasn't even played that much in his career so why the love fest?

Also BW Webb has been the biggest drop off from mini camp to training camp that i've ever seen. Everyone was saying he was the best or one of the best rookies at minicamp. What happened?

Drafting that kid in the 4th round when we had so many holes on the team... made no sense to me. I hope Wilcox can emerge at some point, but his drafting didn't make sense to me either.

Pass defense. Seemed like against AZ that Palmer and Stanton both could have thrown for over 300 yards. Middle of the field and the seams had gapping holes.

It was good forward thinking IMO. They were drafting him to make Scandrick expendable next season. I'm not sure if that's going to happen now. He's looked absolutely horrendous.

Matt Johnson. I really had hope that he would be healthy and fight for a starting spot this year. It looks like he might not even make the team at this point.

The injuries for sure. I mean how much bad luck does a team get...who knows maybe this will work...cause last year we pretty much got through the preseason unscathed. Maybe this year we will have a healthy regular season.

Honorable mention:
The Oline. I know injuries are the main reason for this but we still dont' know what we will be getting as far as protecting Romo and the run game this year because the line has been injured and hasn't had a chance to gel.

Safeties. Injuries here and haven't really seen anything from them

The OL has been frustrating not disappointing due to injuries. My biggest disappointment so far has been Orton. Defending him is getting harder each time he plays.

Totally agree. I truly feel this area will cost the team several games. Would keep 6 CBs, possibly one from another teams cut, and 4 safeties with S. Moore serving as your swing S/CB.

I would say the biggest let down was the season ending injury for Crawford. These other guys are dealing with minor injuries and should be ready to go or close to being ready to go in week 1. Crawford season is over.

OL. Year after year. Infuriating.

That and turnovers. Injuries is a good one too. There's a fine line between being smart about injuries and welcoming them. With Parcells, you didn't see this as much. Since he's left it seems like it's okay to miss time.

the way this training staff coddles players. there just seems to be no toughness to this team

get a hangnail = out 2 weeks. smh

the robotic and emotionless Jason Garrett. I was hoping to see more fire from him on the sidelines but it just seems to be the same old blank stare ----> move mic away, spit ---> applaud the offense for getting in the redzone and kicking a FG

i want to see some accountability in the form of getting your *** handed to you from the head coach if you screw up, not a pat on the back and a "get 'em next time"

I would say a majority of the secondary. Church, Webb, and Claiborne. On the flip side, Brandon Carr looks great.

The mistakes on offense. I know it's early, but once again we're shooting ourselves in the foot. This offense hasn't been able to get out of its own way since the 2nd Eagles game in '07.

Matt Johnson has to be #1 for me. Was hoping a year to heal himself and get ready for the rigors of the NFL and he would be fine. Not so much apparently.

Not so worried about the defense....even the middle of the field. I am sure that they aren't showing everything, even as far as coverages. The one thing, from top to bottom, is even though they have given up yards, when the field shrinks they are holding teams to FG or nothing. That is what you will see from this defense.

The other disappointment is that Ratliff and Spencer haven't been able to get on the field.

The league has changed since he left the NFL. Rule changes are killing the game. You watch hard knocks? The Bengals wont go full pads at all during the season.
