Sure we all talk about O-lineman or a WR, which no doubt, we need to upgrade at, but one piont we always overlook (and the cowboys too) is Kicker.

We lost the Commanders game, Seattle, and Denver on missed kicks. Some of them very easy kicks I might add. Hell, we could be 10-2 right now with a decent kicker.

I hear Viniteri is a FA this year (if NE doesn't franchise him). What an outstanding aquisition that would be around here.

In todays NFL, the teams are all so close, it seems as though half of the games are decided on kicks at some point in the game. What a luxury it would be to have a rock solid player like Viniteri on your squad to take care of business when you need him.

If we go after an FA my guess would be a vet OLB who is familiar with the 3-4 or a low-cost interior lineman who can play C and G.

Viniteri isn't going anywhere -- why even think about it?

Parcells doesn't believe in spending big $$$ on Kickers. As you can tell, he's a very stubborn man. He'll never change. Unless it's his hair.

Where do you find FA kickers to spend a lot of money on. They just don't exist.

I think OT and C are by far the biggest need. IMO Petitti and Tucker should be second string, and Gurode/Johnson can fight it out for the backup C position.

Doubt we do anything here other than get a mid-priced veteran. You just can't have everyone on the line making 4 million + a year. It cripples you.

BP has a history of developing young linemen. We, unfortunately, haven't seen much of that yet. But you can be sure that is job #1 this off-season.

He's Adam Vinatieri. There are no kickers like him in the league, save for Mike Vanderjagt. Vinatieri has won two Superbowls on his leg. Sonw on the field and in his eyes cannot stop him. Since there is a dearth of clutch kickers, if Vinatieri is a F/A, he may command a bidding war from franchises that are almost there or are sick of choking kickers.

Plus, you never know what Daniel Synder is planning. :D

With the exception of us getting a low cost interior lineman, we need a proven "young" interior lineman, preferably a C, andI'm thinking we will address one of our linebacker holes in FA rather it be inside or outside. I agree with the meat of your post.

You need a pat-down from Michael Irvin if you think that Vinatieri is going to hit the market.

I swear, every year at this time folks get all hyped about guys who are going to be free agents - and don't seem to realize that the real difference makers NEVER hit the market.

I think kicker is a big need and they'd be 10-2 if they had a kicker who could make chip shots. But even still, they wouldn't win the Super Bowl with the way the O-Line is playing right now.

If I was Parcells I'd search for a center, free safety, right tackle, and kicker in free agency.

All of these are positions that they need to be better at and at the very least need more competition.

Then I'd draft a guard, preferably a right guard so I don't hear excuses about him learning a new position. I still figure that Rivera may have a good year in him if healthy and quite frankly, they need to develop something for the future for Rivera and Allen.

In the second round, I'd look at the best free safety or speed WR available. Whomever I don't take in round two, I go after in round three. Speed WR has to be able to do punt returns and will be the guy to eventually replace Terry Glenn.

After that, I'd look at LB. Although they should be pretty well off with Kalen Thornton and Al Singleton coming back, Fujita getting a second year in the defense, and Burnett should get better. I think they are best off putting Burnett at ILB next year and have him compete with Shanle.

I'd then consider a fullback, although they usually don't get drafted.

The good news is that it's a lot easier to find a center, guard, and fullback than it is to find a good RB, WR, CB, etc.

We need an athletic left tackle. If we are going to have to face Osi for the next 10 years, Flozell is too slow for LT. I've never seen an 280 lbs. man chase down a RB like Julius (who ran a 4.4 in predraft workouts) on a after he actually bit inside. Unfortunately, LT with that kind of ability rarely hit the open market. We'll have to draft him.

Before the season, it was FS. So can anyone say they're totally happy with Pile and Davis manning the spot?

I think the biggest problem on the OL may be chemistry. Too many moving parts in the offseason reduced the effectiveness of the entire line. Only LA and Rivera are playing in the same spot as last year, and they're playing next to guys who are playing different positions or rotating in and out...

Love the name btw.
Biggest FA need is a center named LeCharles Bentley.

In the draft, I think biggest need is Tackle. I'd love to see Flo move to RT if we get a 1st rd LT like Jon Scott. Flo is gonna have an easier time at RT after his injury and wont have to be as quick. Jon Scott is a freakin stud who could be a probowl caliber guy at LTformany years. Or Flozell back at LT and we draft a stud RT in the first or 2nd.

I need a pat-down for choosing such a stupid username. :bang2:

Is T.O. considered a F/A or a trade? He was a difference maker for the Eagles. Good and bad.
