I will again say it will be a terrible decision knowing so many good RBs will be available in every rd of this draft.

I agree, I don’t hate it at all. Is it really too high for a guy that is likely to touch the ball 20x per game and score 10 or so TDs per year? He’s a game breaker for sure. I also don’t hate Gibbs at 26, I think he is going to be electric but too similar to Pollard.
I also don’t think BJ fall to us at 26 but I also like the UCLA kid Charbonett in the second.

If he drops to 20,I can see us moving up for him.

I think that they should sit at 26 and see who falls to them. Could be Robinson, Gibbs, Flowers, JSN, or another receiver, or position player at every position except qb. I think that Gibbs will be there. If Robinson goes another position will drop. I don't think 6 receivers will go in the top 25, if they do another position drops. There for sure will be some good tight ends.

I think that they should trade a pick for Hopkins.

I can't believe Jerry cut Zeke today... didn't think the old guy would ever do it. But that may just be freeing up room to draft his next shiny toy.

The more I think about it, the more I guess I wouldn't hate a Bijan pick. There's obviously plenty of dudes I prefer. But if it's down to say Michael Mayer or Bijan, or Steve Avila vs Bijan, I'm probably going Bijan at this point. And I wouldn't be surprised if Bijan is the pick regardless of what I think.

Here's my thinking on that.

  • Bijan fits the Cowboys mold super cleanly. Monster, outlier kind of athlete. Big school. Fits McCarthy's new offense (which is yuk). Jerry could sell a billion jerseys. All the decision makers will love him.

  • There's been a couple elite RBs picked in the 30s-40s zone. Chubb, Jonathan Taylor, Ken Walker last year... none of those teams are good, but I don't think they regret drafting those RBs either. Pick 26 isn't that far from the early 30s, and you do get a 5th year option with it.

  • Bijan is ideally suited for the Zeke role. I don't believe in him as a receiver nearly as much as some do, but that dude can hammer downhill, and the Cowboys love power backs who can hammer downhill. It is a monster usage role for us.

  • Knowing the Cowboys' track record, I would bet Bijan gets 250 carries immediately regardless of Pollard, and would continue to get 250+ carries every year until his health gave out. Zeke got 231 freaking carries last year, and he was totally washed. So I don't think Pollard would roadblock anything.

Where are you at on this?

I am fine with this too, but everyone said the same things about Gurley falling and he was coming off of knee surgery. Actually heard they really like his teammate, Johnson who is a 3rd rd prospect and fits the need.

Roschon is one of my favorite RB targets.

I like him in the 4th 10 times better than Bijan in the 1st.

Think he is more of a late day 2 prospect, but he is a good fit. Not much mileage coming into the league, either.

Me neither!
Might not be my top choice (depending on who is available) but 26 is entering the sweet spot for taking RBs.
Would be a nice fit

Night and day vs taking one at #4 overall

I'm good with it. But he won't make it to 26. Some other team that also could use a good RB is picking at 31, and they'll jump in front because they know Jerry just sits and waits.

If we pick up Wagner, Resign Hankins, a K, and OBJ/Hopkins and then get BJ in round 1…I actually would get excited about the season.
That’d be a nice array of big time weapons and a run stopping D
