Hell no.

It's bad enough using another first round pick on a TB after we tried this with Elliott. You would just make it even dumber trading a future first round pick or a 2nd round pick to go chase a TB in the first round.
Yeah, that would be killing your team's future.

Trade picks but don't give.up two 1st round picks.

If you were going to do that, just make your run game better by upgrading a lineman.

Right, not 0. But it is as close to zero as it can get. Probably between 0 and 1%. As close to zero as it can get without being zero.

Every team in the league knows we'd draft Bijan if he fell to 26. Even tennis fans know this. And knowing the Cowboys never move up, all a team has to do is trade up a few spots to 25 and take him. The Jones boys still think no one has any idea what they'll do.
So what if the Eagles get Nolan Smith, Jalen Carter or whomever falls in their lap at 10 then trade up to 25 to get Bijan. I would probably break my TV!
Everyone loved the Dez Bryant trade up from 27 to 24 so it's not crazy to trade up for a top ten value guy who has fallen.

The eagles also pick 10 and not 26
I get it.
But the Eagles did lose a ton of starters this year and 2022 might be the best roster Hurts ever plays on now that he's getting paid.

All indications he is going to the Falcons at 8.

Throw that lure out there you mean.

Trading up a handful of picks is higher than 1%
The Cowboys don't trade up. They sit pat. I can see a team with a pick in the mid 30s just moving up to 25 and taking him. That's if he gets anywhere near 25. Bijan is not falling to 26. It's a near 0 chance.

important? you don't make early selections based on need. you go get the best players early. if he's on the board, he will undoubtedly be the best player available.
Yeah I don‘t believe in the “best available player“ bit. I think the best approach is best available at a position of need with a value overlay. That’s a mouthful. For example if KC is drafting and a QB falls to them that is the top rated guy on their board they won’t draft him. They would likely trade the pick. Happens all the time.

I'm sure some here have heard this guy interviewed.

Man, he's impressive in that regard as well.

Whoever drafts him will not be getting a knucklehead.
A great one to have as one of your faces of the franchise.

They are simply adjusting the rule because of a special situation. Sure there are exceptions but it otherwise stick to the rule and prosper.

Of course you want the best player but need takes precedence. I am sure Drew Sanders is very high on their list and at 26 could be the best available player. There is no way they should pick him.
