Bill Belichick is the guy who told my dad that Ted Marchibroda wanted to speak with him right before he was let go from the Colts haha. I remember back when Belichick started coaching for the Browns my dad was shocked it was the same guy, said they used to call him Billy Ball Boy.

From 25 dollar a week Billy Ball Boy to a 16-0 season. It's pretty impressive what he's accomplished regardless of the spygate scandal and he's the best coach in the NFL regardless too.

And Demarcus Ware did exactly what everyone thought he would do before the season. Probably shouldn't consider him for Defensive Player of the Year then. You can use the cheating part all you want, but the other part of the argument doesn't make sense.

I realize there are some bruised feelings from Cowboys fans, but please, be realistic.

Aside from not disturbing what was already in place and being himself, what has he done?

Has he faced a talent deficit like McCarthy? No.

Has he been able to rally his team time and time again like Belichick? No.

From a pure X and O standpoint, his coaching job this year is something I would rate as average, really.

Belichick should be DQ'd from the contest. It makes no sense that a player can't win a POY award if they test positive for roids yet Belichick can blatantly break the rules and still win the coach of the year award. And as far as coaches and players being treated differently (which I would disagree with), this is the same league that suspended Wade Wilson for buying steroids.

The thing McCarthey has over Wade is his team garned a higher increase in wins...5 versus Wade's increase of 4. Of course Wade got one of those wins against McCarthey.

I don't think I'd label Green Bay as having a talent deficit coming into the season. They appeared pretty solid all the way around except for the running game and the questions of what Favre will show up along with kicking game issues. If you really look at it, they had very similar personnel along with question marks as Dallas did coming into the season. That being said, the NFC East is far superior to the NFC North.

Great lesson kids have been taught here... cheat your way to 3 superbowls and then show absolutely zero respect to your opponents by running up the score... and you get awarded for it.

Belichick won COY because he gave them an easy way to earn their salary by giving them something to fill their write-ups with.

I am in the minority but I think the guy deserved.

I dislike the Patriots but Belichick did a really good job keeping his team focused week after week among constant distractions and teams giving them their best shot week after week.

If your team goes undefeated, you should win COTY.

I have to agree with this, even if you believe the pats have been cheating thought the Belichick era the team still had to go out and execute. If you believe that they had the advantage of knowing the initial play call, there is always the possibility the defensive team could addable out of the initial play. Which is what I would have of done if I were a defensive head coach, just to see how they responded. If you believe the were cheating against the jets, they would have of been out of there mind to continue thereafter. I believe with the scrutiny they were under week in week out, it is safe to say they did not bend the rules after that game. I think that he has his team prepared better than just about any other coach, the fact the they recorded the jest signals for 7 minutes of the first game not withstanding.
