Let's remember, this is a guy that blatantly CHEATED and then blatantly LIED over and over.

Remember, this is a guy that originally DENIED that he was videotaping the opposing team's signal. He then claimed he only did it a few times. Then claimed he only did it for opposing team's defensive signals and then claimed he had no idea who Matt Walsh was (despite standing directly next to him in 3 different team pictures).

So I look at his Super Bowl victories as completely tarnished and his credentials as a head coach as very questionable.

But you're right, he really has a lack of class and just really has zero respect for the game and his opponents. And all of the wins and blowout victories won't change the fact that he has zero integrity.

Bill Belichek is a great coach I wish we had him.

Most sense said in this thread.

Yeah teams should go easy on other teams in case they get their feelings hurt. And fans complain about the game becoming soft.

DON'T SCORE TOO MANY POINTS ON THE OTHER TEAM THATS NOT FAIR!!!

Why not just never count scores and everybody can go home winners. Pathetic.

or go out of your way to try and embarrass teams when the game is clearly all ready over and than somebody might accidently fall into your qbs knee ending his season......

There is such a thing as sportsmanship..ever heard of it?

Respect your opponents?

There was never any doubt when the Pats came out in the third quarter that they were going to win and by a blowout.

Can't stand fat Buddy and I'm enjoying watching his offspring self destruct as well.

Why respect them when they don't even respect them selves? Why should a team go half speed just to not hurt the other teams feelings?

I have mixed feeling about Belichik, but they way he bucks convention by not going easy on teams will always have my respect. Play to win or don't play.

The Patriots have looked far from super this year. If I am him, I'm letting my team play just as though the game is close. Finding a rhythm and getting his team on the track he wants is far more important to him than public perception. And it should be.

I know that "no game is ever out of reach" is a just a banal cliche, but in the NFL, every game is important and you have to make sure you close an opponent out.

NFL Coaches spend years telling their players that they must enforce their will on the opposing team and it can be difficult to turn that off and on during a game.

Like Mike Golic stated today, it was up to the Titans to play better.

There is just too much money involved for a team to be completely dismantled like the Titans were and they should be flat out embarrassed by the way they played.

Besides, it isn't like the Patriots are some juggernaut team with a ton of Pro Bowlers.

I wonder, and I'm dead serious about this, if some of these fans would be really pissed off if Bill was doing such things as the coach of the Cowboys. Something tells me if we were capable of rolling people like that, and we were doing it, that everyone who hates it right now would be saying, "Hey it's football. You've got to close them out. Up to the other team to stop us."

I doubt, very seriously, if it was our own favorite team doing it that many people would have an issue with it.

I have no issue with him keeping the starters in to start the second half. He pulled them in the second half, as most coaches respectfully do, and I have no problem with that.

Maybe people should hate Jimmy Johnson as well, huh? I mean we were only up, what, 45-17 in the Superbowl and there were still starters in there. We were still scoring. Heck even when it was 52-17, and Lett recovered that fumble, there were still starters in the game and we nearly scored again there to make it 59-17. Was Jimmy also classless? I mean it was VERY CLEAR that there was simply no chance of them coming back in that game.

Guess that was alright though, right, cause it was the Superbowl and it was Jimmy Johnson doing it.

I can see both sides. I can understand folks thinking its classless. At the same time, Belichick knows his squad. He may think his squad has lost the "killer instinct" and needs to continue fighting as if the score is 3-0.

Killer instinct isn't developed in practice but on the field. And if I think my team is too soft, I'm going to keep them in there so they can develop an edge, a mentality that we're not letting up off the gas pedal until the game is officially over.

The team I help coach, we're undefeated, but I'm worried that our players think they can just roll over other teams. We need to develop a "killer instinct" going into the playoffs. That may mean keeping the starters in longer. It may mean easing off after we're up by 40 points.

It's a coach's call based on the coach's knowledge of his players and his team.

Oh well..we're obviously not going to agree about this and see totally different sides of BB. Has nothing to do with hurting the other teams feelings..huh?

It's called sportsmanship and obviously he hasn't a clue about it. He'll get his.

i don't get this at all. how many people were in that stadium and how much money had each of them payed for a ticket? why just because the titans chuck it when they go behind should these paying customers have to sit and watch the second string carefully avoiding racking up a mammoth score as a gesture of proffessional respect?
at the end of the days people pay there money to go to the football to be entertained not to watch players going through the motions because of some unwritten rule. also if one team throws in the towel and plays half hearted why is it up to the other to stop trying to score, if you don't have enough pride in yourself to play to 100% regardless of the score then why should the opposition respect you and ease off?

and the stuff about going for brady's knee isn't particularly sporting is it

No, and I don't believe a player would do it, risk his own career just to show he's the only one the team that cares? Especially Brady's knee, if anybody went after them on purpose they would be made an example of.
