This morning's interview on The Fan pretty much cemented this for me.

In 2020, Jerry felt the roster was close, but had underachieved. He was set on hiring a coach with experience winning in the NFL to get the team over the hump:

"One of our primary goals in selecting the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys was to focus on a proven team-builder and winner. Someone who's got a proven track record of winning not only consistently, but at the highest level," said Jones, per ESPN. "[In] Mike McCarthy, we found a coach who not only checked those boxes, but also has the experience of taking an NFL team to the biggest stage, the Super Bowl, and completing the job."

It's obvious that Jerry feels the same way today. He said as much this morning. He thinks the roster he's assembled is good enough to compete with the best teams in the league. He's paid his WR, he's paid his CB, he's paid his QB. So why aren't we winning? It doesn't matter if you agree, that's how he feels. So if the team fails to meet his expectations, the logical conclusion is going to be to replace the guy in charge of the on-field product. Jerry will once again be looking for a proven winner, and no one has won more than Belichick.

Jerry and Bill have been very complimentary of each other in the past and Bill has spoken highly of the organization on his podcast this season. I'll be curious to see if he bites his tongue if/when they discuss last Sunday's beatdown. Yeah, you're probably going to have to deal with his goon squad of Matt Patricia, Josh McDaniels, et al. tagging along. They come with the territory. Oh well, would you rather have Jerry forcing a head coach to hire his buddies like Zimmer?

For the record, I'm fine with this. The only problem Belichick has ever had in coaching in the last two decades was not being able to find a capable QB after Brady. This team has one. Argue all you want about if Dak is elite, great, or merely good. He can get you to the playoffs and with Belichick that's probably all you need, if you trust he's going to take care of the rest (fix the defenses, beef up the trenches).

I would love to see him strictly for his Defensive prowess, but I can’t see him having a practice where the Owner lands his helicopter on the field!

Having said that Bill would be good for accountability, and also coaching these Bozo’s on when to let go of a player before it’s too late.

Clearly Jerry didn't think this out far enough, Jerry could interview a SNAIL, and if they sold it to him hard enough, he'd hire it! At the press conference you'd see that big yellow smile of Jerry's, then he'd get emotional thinking about the Superbowl's he's won, and how strongly he thinks the SNAIL is going to win him one!!

A couple of points to consider:
  • The roster really isn't in good shape, that's pretty apparent to everyone, including BB.
  • If Jerry hires BB and wins, who is going to get that credit? Is it Jerry or one of the best coaches in NFL history?
  • BB is likely to set some firm boundaries as did Bill P., is Jerry willing to walk on eggshells at 83 years old?

Bill Belichick is not gonna coach at a team with amateurs making the draft choices.

And Jerry will never again let go of an ounce of power ....... he has stated that every time he did he regretted it

Not gonna lie Belichick might be a breaking point for me. You see the issue with the current coaching philosophy and signing Belichick would be like doubling down on it. I don't like his coordinators, he ran Brady out of NE with his ego. Give me a Ben Johnson or Shanahan disciple let's go forwards not backwards.

I think you are on to something, this will be Jerry's last chance for a splash in his controversial football life.

Who better than little Bill to show that Jerry is really all in for a champonship?

But if Bill comes over, who knows what will be going on behind closed doors though, specially with Cap boy.

Head coach......Nick Saban
Defensive coor.....Bill Belichick ( his mentor and close friend)
Offensive coor......Jason Garrett ( his former OC with the Dolphins)

Because Jerry is an idiot if he thinks that it is that easy to win by just paying a QB, WR and CB.

I guess other teams don't pay their QB, WR and CB. Pretty sure KC just won without paying their WR and guess what, they just paid their DT(imagine that)

I don't care if he agrees. If he asked the question, that is the answer.

BB would be the logical choice, if Jerry really wants to win, but Jerry wants to win his way.

You think if BB comes in and wins Jerry will get the credit??? Jerry wants the credit more than the win - he is an ego maniac.

The only chance of this relationship working is because BB wants none of the attention.

Give BB 100% autonomy and let Jerry go to the media and pretend like every decision made was his. I don't think BB would give a crap.
