What a terrible move this would be. The only upside is he won't put up with Jerry meddling like all the other puppets, but a 75 year old coach on his last legs, I'm not really seeing him turning this around. As long as Jerry and Stephen are doing their thing, they can go get every hall of fame coach that's still alive and nothings changing.

If Bill wants to truly make it look like he is terrible without Tom Brady, He should come to Dallas.
The franchise where he will have no control or say.

..highly doubt it. Jerry will higher another old fart, who's been around the league.

Has ties to Jurassic period.

I'm in the crazy crowd. If Bill comes, he's only being a puppet to draw the fans back into Booger's circus. I think Bill is smarter than to get personally involved.

With friends all over the league he don't need Booger to tell him how a team should be run. 8 rings says he has a lot of say in if, when, where, and how much say he has in his next destination.

As long as Jerry & Stephen are our front office execs., the chances of being a SB competitor would be a longshot. Take it to the bank!

This morning's interview on The Fan pretty much cemented this for me.

In 2020, Jerry felt the roster was close, but had underachieved. He was set on hiring a coach with experience winning in the NFL to get the team over the hump:

"One of our primary goals in selecting the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys was to focus on a proven team-builder and winner. Someone who's got a proven track record of winning not only consistently, but at the highest level," said Jones, per ESPN. "[In] Mike McCarthy, we found a coach who not only checked those boxes, but also has the experience of taking an NFL team to the biggest stage, the Super Bowl, and completing the job."

It's obvious that Jerry feels the same way today. He said as much this morning. He thinks the roster he's assembled is good enough to compete with the best teams in the league. He's paid his WR, he's paid his CB, he's paid his QB. So why aren't we winning? It doesn't matter if you agree, that's how he feels. So if the team fails to meet his expectations, the logical conclusion is going to be to replace the guy in charge of the on-field product. Jerry will once again be looking for a proven winner, and no one has won more than Belichick.

Jerry and Bill have been very complimentary of each other in the past and Bill has spoken highly of the organization on his podcast this season. I'll be curious to see if he bites his tongue if/when they discuss last Sunday's beatdown. Yeah, you're probably going to have to deal with his goon squad of Matt Patricia, Josh McDaniels, et al. tagging along. They come with the territory. Oh well, would you rather have Jerry forcing a head coach to hire his buddies like Zimmer?

For the record, I'm fine with this. The only problem Belichick has ever had in coaching in the last two decades was not being able to find a capable QB after Brady. This team has one. Argue all you want about if Dak is elite, great, or merely good. He can get you to the playoffs and with Belichick that's probably all you need, if you trust he's going to take care of the rest (fix the defenses, beef up the trenches).
I was with you up until you alluded to Dak being a Brady level capable QB. There's no way in hell Dak is as capable as Tom Brady. Please tell us you're not on drugs.

This would doom the Cowboys to continued mediocrity. But that doesn’t mean this is necessarily wrong.

Sad…

C'mon. Zero chance he comes here. Why would anybody wanna work for Jerry.
Simple. There are ONLY 32 jobs like this in the world AND whether or not it is earned, the Cowboys are still the premier team in the league with the greatest media drawing power - even being 30 years removed from earned greatness.

More likely it will be someone like Ron Rivera, Marv Lewis or Lovie Smith. If Jerry decides to go with someone younger, it'll be Kellen Moore.

Belichick would be forced to deal with a horrible contract. Unless he truly believes in the QB, he wouldn't come here, because he would be stuck with the QB.
