I am really befuddled by this one to be honest.

At first I paused to wonder if it was true right up until Janice Dickinson through her name out there as someone it was done to. At that point I really began to question the validity of these accusations or if they're nothing more than accusations from a bunch of has beens, or never was, who are trying to get one more 15 minutes of fame moment.

Dickinson in particular is not a person I'd trust as far as I could throw her with one broken arm. She wakes up in a different world every day and doesn't even know where she is most of the time, from what you see of her they interview her or have her on TV shows. She's an attention *****, in the truest sense of the phrase, and just does and says things for attention and fame that she no longer has, IMO.

There have been accusations going back a decade, and there are at the latest count 15 women who have accused him of very similar activities. For me, at least, it stretches credulity to think they're all making stuff up.

It's real interesting how all of this is just now coming out when I've known about these allegations since the 90s. I remember having a conversation with my Dad about Bill Cosby around that time. And the one thing he always said was that Bill wasn't always America's favorite dad. Camille (his wife) put up with alot from him. I assumed he paid most of the women off and that's why no one paid much attention back then. Power of the Internet is amazing when something like this comes out after so many years.

While I do think he is guilty of many of the things that he's been accused of, I think some folks are just piling on. My general opinion is that Cosby was simply doing what most folks in the industry in the 60s and 70s did, used the casting couch to get women. I guarantee he's not the only one who did it.

Yeah, I think he's guilty also.

No doubt this thing has been going in Hollywood for a long time, I think what separates this case is the number of times he forced himself onto women. It was a wink & a nod kind of thing, but Bill is an out & out bully (to put it kindly).

And it didn't end in the 70's, he's been apparently been doing this right up until recently.

Some mentioned being drugged.

If that's the case, that's not "getting a little" on the casting couch in return for a favor in the business, ... that's rape.
It's rape regardless of it being called a casting couch favor. I was simply suggesting that that's what women went through in the industry during that time pretty regularly. By use of force, drugs, and intimidation. It didn't matter.

I've seen a number of documentaries which show that some of our favorite artists from that era were domestic and drug abusers. All the stuff coming out about Bill Cosby doesn't surprise me in the least.

I've never heard about any of these allegations until this recent time.

That doesn't mean anything, of course, but I've never heard anything about this ever before now.

And WG while I agree with you to a large extent on what you said in your last post the ones who willingly agreed to have sex to try and gain favor, or because the guy said he'd give them a part or help them get one, were not raped.

You didn't have to agree to do the casting couch thing. That's your own fault if you agreed to it.

Now if they used drugs, or bullied and forced them into, then I'm right there with you. But those who simply went along with it to try and get something for their career I'm sorry but I don't feel the least bit sorry for you. No one said you had to do it just because someone told you it would help you with your career.

Oh then that makes it even worse why they shouldn't have done that, right after that guy brings it back up. They really are dumb.

I'm with you on Dickinson but then I read she brought up these accusations years ago (2006?) in a book she wrote, so if that's true then she isn't merely jumping on this bandwagon, which was my initial thought.

All I heard was Bill is a bully, and at first thought they were talking about Bill Clinton....My bad!
Also, when this first came out, I thought Cosby was being "Herman Cained"!

So, this as pretty common back then... Ok...

Out of all the ones that were doing it... Only Bill's 15 are coming forward.
All the other guys that did it... Those women just accepted it for what it is... What it was... At the time.

Got it. Lol

Not sure what you're suggesting or what you think I'm suggesting.

Your thoughts on the matter are pretty self explanatory.

If women were drugged and raped... And it was common. I never knew that. I wonder why more groups of women don't come forward from the other "most folks".... That did that!?

As I stated, I've watched plenty of documentaries about Hollywood and the whole casting couch phenomenon and what Bill Cosby did wasn't unique in the industry. Women were objects and looked at such during that era. To be successful, plenty of women did what they felt they had to do in order to become famous. I've read about how James Brown beloved literally beat the crap out of Tammy Terrelle to where she had to call her Mom to come pick her up from a venue outside of Jersey, I believe.

Hell, the movie "What's Love Got to Do With It?" is a cult classic, but that was Tina Turner's real life.

None of that is right, at all. It IS rape. It IS a sexual assault, but it's also something I knew about in the 90s. I mean, these were easy to find. I would occasionally look it up just to see if my memory was faulty, but the stories were always there.
