I love Wade, how can't you? He's a fat jolly man that jumps in the air when we score, kinda like a fat kid jumps around when the cake timer goes off.

:lmao:

Bill Cowher would come to Dallas and demand respect, and he could get rid of players like Greg Ellis who are bad for the team. He would boot all the over confident or selfish players on this team who don't take responsibility for their play. Yes, Wade. It is their fault. Quit making excuses for them.

Cowher could look at the players and say, "Do you see this Super Bowl ring? You all don't have a clue when it comes to winning one."

He is a strong defensive coach who could build the 3-4 around Ware and Spencer. Moreover, if Garrett stayed, he would have a strong coach to give him some much needed parameters when it comes to managing Tony Romo, because he needs them. In the two losses with Romo playing, Garrett's play calling and management of Tony Romo appeared over confident and not very smart.

Hello, Garrett. Your quarterback has been hit about 18 times in this game. He's fumbled on the other team's 25 when he didn't step up and held the ball too long. Your offensive line hasn't been able to block 4 guys in this game while you keep letting Romo look for big plays down the field.

What does Garrett do the first play of over time? He lets Romo drop back and look down the field and get sacked and fumble. Broken finger, game over.

Any defensive minded football fan or coach could tell you that you shouldn't be looking to throw the ball down the field inside your own redzone when your offensive line has been dominated and your receivers have not been getting open. Garrett should have forced Romo to manage that game better and protected him with his play calling. He didn't. If you get 3 points after you take over at the Cardinals 25, you win, but no, let's go deep on the first play and fumble and give the ball back to them.

I thought that this guy was to be the next "Vunder-Child/Genius Guru" offensive mind in the NFL??
I never agreed with this hiring of Garrett, who had all of two (as in 2) spectacular years of NFL coaching, the QB coach in Miami (name the QB's he's coached to greatness while there....).
He schemes, play calling and initiatives are nothing short of the card-board and bland Parcells area. Predictable, and awe-inspiring only in how unbelievably "out of it" it is. First and ten, incomplete pass. Second and ten, a dive off tackle!!! STUPID!!!!!!!!!!!
Once you commit to the pass on first down, on your own 14, and it's incomplete, you're stuck with the pass for the duration of the downs. PERIOD!
Even a brain surgeon like me living off the continent (Hawaii) can figure that out!!
Two words: RON RIVERA!!!!!!!!!!

Tom Landry won only 2 in 29 years of coaching. So what's your point?

Bill Cowher by the year:

1992: 11-5, AFC Central Title, loss to the Bills in the divisional round (Buffalo went on to lose Superbowl to Dallas)

1993: 9-7, Wildcard loss to Joe Montana and the Chiefs (I believe the Chiefs made the AFC title game that year and lost to the Bills who went on to lose to Dallas in the Superbowl)

1994: 12-4, AFC Central Title, AFC Championship game lost to Chargers (Who went on to be crushed by the Niners in the Superbowl)

1995: 11-5, AFC Central Title, AFC Champions, lost Superbowl to Dallas

1996: 10-6, AFC Central Title, Wild card playoff win (Crushed Colts), beaten by New England in divisional round, New England went on to lose Superbowl to the Packers

1997: 11-5, AFC Central Title, AFC Championship game lost to Denver Broncos, who just happened to go on and win the Superbowl

1998: 7-9, missed playoffs

1999: 6-10, missed playoffs

2000: 9-7, missed playoffs

2001: 13-3, Divisional title, AFC Championship game loss to eventual Superbowl Champion Patriots.

2002: 10-5-1, Division title, Wild card win, divisional round playoff loss to Titans

2003: 6-10, missed playoffs

2004: 15-1, divison title, AFC Championship game loss to eventual Superbowl Champion Patriots

2005: 10-6, Won the Superbowl

2006: 8-8, missed playoffs

So, yeah, he coached them to a few down years there, as expected, but by and large I'd say he kept a pretty darn competitive team for the majority of his coaching career there.

I mean how many people wouldn't take at least an NFC Championship appearance at least 6 times in 15 years?

The Steelers made 6 AFC title games during his tenure and played in two superbowls.

Certainly not the best coach of all time, by any means, but hardly a guy who sucks.

I'd take results like that over going this long without even one playoff victory, let alone a NFC Championship game appearance.

You're welcome to borrow my work. :)

And you're correct.

I've said it weeks ago and I will continue to say it when the subject is brought up... This team needs a disciplinarian. They can't discipline themselves. Bill Cowher should definitely be on the short list.

I agree.
I was never big on Cowher... but he *seems* to be what this team needs. He will keep them on their toes.

If Jerry were smart. You bring in Cowher and lock him in long term.

Oh and...... B... T.. F... O.. Jerry!!!!
